The members from Cherokee nation were forced out parts of North Carolina,Tennessee,Georgia, and Alabama, they called this "The Trail of Tears". Many became ill and thousands died during the arduous crossing.
The U.S promised they give the Native Americans recourses to live, but the commitments went unfulfilled most of the time, so the Native Americans ability to hunt, fish and gather food was severely restricted. Illness, starvation, and depression remained a constant for many.
