The Americans thought that just because the Natives had a different culture and way of life that it was okay to take their children and put them into very strict boarding schools to "kill the Indian and save the man". In those boarding schools they would cut off the children's long hair, force then not to speak their native language and even give then new "white" names.&nbsp;</em></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>When battling with Andrew Jackson, Indians called him a "sharp knife" because of many Cherokee dying due to the Indian removal act.<br>The members from Cherokee nation were forced out parts of North Carolina,Tennessee,Georgia, and Alabama, they called this "The Trail of Tears". Many became ill and thousands died during the arduous crossing.<br>The U.S promised they give the Native Americans recourses to live, but the commitments went unfulfilled most of the time, so the Native Americans ability to hunt, fish and gather food was severely restricted. Illness, starvation, and depression remained a constant for many. <br><br></div>]]></description>
