There are two men who are tugging on the pillars. The pillars each say a different party so they say Federalists, Republicans, and then Democrats. The box above them says Liberty and Independence. George Washington is in the clouds and the words behind him state to the men to keep the pillars of the parties together so the nation will not divide. Both men are stating why they do not want each pillar to stand. One man wears red where the other wears blue.

Because I see that the two men are pulling apart from each other I think that they do not support the other's cause. It seems that they have their own opinions and they do not want to confide the other.
Because I see Washington in the sky I think he is trying to keep peace between then men and help the nation stay together. He is trying to help them stop arguing and just keep both parties in favor.

I think the message is trying to convey how the two parties split because of their differences in opinion. If they had just compromised then nothing would have fallen apart. The whole point of Washington being there seems to create peace between the two.
