It would be good to know about placement in week one (where you’ll be and what day of the week) 

Felt like we had 5 weeks of induction, which was a little frustrating because it felt like a waste of teaching time. Things like library orientation can be done online, or could be a voluntary session that you can choose to attend. Wednesday mornings are the highlight of the week. 

PCP feels like we're teaching the module to ourselves. Are we able to have a few more f2f lectures that then link into the online content? It's not very clear, and although the My Groups are good being across the therapies it would be helpful to have some time to think about PCP specifically within MT. Are we able to have some time with Claire to talk through ideas/share thoughts on what we've been learning etc? 

There seemed to be a very long induction.  Can some of the lectures be optional or recorded so that the time could be used in other ways? 

Could we make more opportunities to meet 2nd years? I’ve already given feedback to some of the instructors and have felt like the response has pretty much been “feeling lost is part of the process” rather than considering changing anything about the course to help with it. This has been discouraging, especially as I have gathered myself, many other students, and 2nd year students have provided similar feedback. To provide suggestions:
  • Provide data on what percentage of graduates have found work, whether it’s full or part-time, and where. Many schools have it available. When I suggested that this is something we should have, my PAT told me to “just focus on your first year” rather than acknowledging that I need this financial investment to be worth it. 
  • Take feedback about library resources, which many or most of us have learned during undergrad.  Change to pre-recorded sessions.
  • Think about “would I pay ~40 pounds to be doing this for an hour?” To sit and write a letter to myself for 45 minutes, or to be released in the library for an hour, no.
  • Provide 1 location with all due dates and assessments (the current document only has the month due and not date)
  • PCP: Start our PAL groups from the beginning of the course so we can work on everything together
  • Make Hub organization more consistent across modules. I have never seen such a poorly organized platform that causes students to waste so much time finding materials
