Jenna- After watching the movie, I know that trauma-informed practices have an impact on how a child develops and grows. I also think that a child who has experienced major trauma does not prioritize school which could lead to lack of motivation.

Jessica: One thing that is abundantly clear from the movie is that trauma-informed practice cannot be one-size-fits-all. The staff of Black Rock take time to truly know their students and what they specifically need for support. (For example, when the math teacher used music to help Joey connect with math.)

Anne- I know that just being there for the students is so helpful. The staff cannot fix their problems, and that has be frustrating, but just being a constant, trusted presence is encouraging.
