Initial care- Clean the wound with a non-fiber shedding material

Post care- Keep dry and clean

Initial care- Clean by running cool water over the area and then use mild soap and water if possible. Dry with a sterile cloth.

post care- an antibiotic or white petrolatum ointment can be applied daily to wounds not repaired with tissue adhesives

Initial care- Remove clothing around the site for easier access.

Apply pressure directly to the wound with your hands to stem the blood flow

Post care- Gently wash it with soap and water to remove the crust. Do not scrub or soak the wound.

post care- Apply a thin layer of an antibiotic cream or ointment (Neosporin, Polysporin). For the first two days, rewash the area and reapply the antibiotic when you change the dressing

initial care- Stop the bleeding. Apply gentle pressure with a clean bandage or cloth. Clean the wound. Rinse the wound with clear water for 5 to 10 minutes.

Post care- Apply petroleum jelly to the wound and cover with a bandage to prevent dirt and germs from entering the wound. Clean the wound daily using soap and water. After cleaning, reapply petroleum jelly and bandage.
