Increased comfort with 4 CT strategies (abstraction, ...) helped me think about literacy connections.

My wheels are spinning as I think about the videos and what this looks like in the classroom (and with my 5 year-old at home). What does a CT/MS unit look like? How can we teach strategies with a literacy model and then practice them with fun experiments? What could this look like at CommonLit? And further, what are the MS in literacy? How can naming them help students in their approach to reading? Mainly, I feel myself really drawn to the envision stage, but I have a lot of learning to do still!

I've been interested in digging into the CT progressions originally put together by Barefoot computing to see if we can use this as a basis for iterating on a tool for measuring student growth in CT. Today I once again began to reflect on that idea. I also liked the Teacher videos and can't wait to see the ones I missed.

Wyman’s ideas about the assessment of metacognition are so important. We need to be thinking more about the in-situ assessment of metacognition. Move away from standardized testing, look at how students use environmental resources when they talk about CT.
