It was an interesting day for me as we have a new Tutor for the moodle.

Before the class, I do not have a research topic and I have no idea what Padlet was about but after the class, I was able to get a research topic and I also understood little about Padlet.

So, I was able to come up with a research topic which is on “Exploring the impact of Artificial Intelligence on job displacement and workforce”. I may still want to change my research topic.

I was able to go to Craiglockhart Campus to borrow the book “Research Method For Business Students ( Sixth Edition )

I was able to skim through the book I borrowed and I also downloaded some apps the Tutor asked the students to download like Grammarly which will help us in writing on our reflections.

Also, my actions after the class was to make sure I attend the next class early enough as the tutor said he will not let anyone who comes 10minutes late into the class.

In general I had an interesting class learning about padlet and getting to have a research topic for my masters.

Moving on to the next class. We had a very interesting class yet again with tutor Shem.

We talked about our research topics and I already had my own research topic on the day.

Shem was inviting every student one after the other to speak to them and to make any necessary changes on their research topics.

He spent about 20 or so minutes with each student, having a deep chat with each student on their research topics and giving them research questions and research aims.

He also asked every student to make sure that they have a research topic and to also write their research aim and research questions before he invites you to talk to you.

Because of the time he took to talk to each students in details regarding our research topics, it was not possible to speak to all the students. Giving important details to their research questions. So we had to schedule different days to meet him up and talk him about our research topics.

I remember speaking to one of my friends who said he spent 45 minutes speaking to one person, and I said, no he didn’t. Even though it took time, it was about 20 minutes or so.

I was also able to read some part of the research book tutor Shen asked us to borrow from the library.

This week started with a bit of surprise. The tutor for Moodle has been changed and we have a new tutor Lewis Urquhart.

It was yet another interesting class though we spent time talking about our time with the previous tutor what we had done and how we could continue with Moodle.

We told the new tutor how we have been able to pick our research topics, research aim, research questions and research objectives with the help of the former tutor Shem.

I was also able to speak to the new tutor about my research topic and why I still have doubts as to whether to continue with the topic.

I also spoke to the new tutor about going back to my original research topic which is ‘Exploring the impact of artificial intelligence on job displacement and workforce’ and the new research topic I have after my meeting with the former tutor, ‘A Critical Evaluation of the Impacts of the use of Artificial Intelligence on Employee Productivity, Upskilling and Reskilling at Higher Education Institutions in Scotland’

This week I already had my research topic and every student was supposed to have their research topics.

My meeting with the tutor was productive. I received valuable feedback on refining my research questions.

I continued working on the research proposal for my upcoming presentation. I was unable to complete the proposal within the week as I noticed that some students already completed their research proposal.

I was excited to carry out my research on ‘Evaluating the impact of Artificial Intelligence on highe education in the UK’.

The tutor talked us through how we would make our presentation, stating that every student would spend about 15 minutes speaking about their research during the presentation.

The tutor also advised every student to make use of secondary data for their research due to time constraints.

This week was a very important week for me as we head into the presentation week noting that the

The term is almost coming to an end.

I have done some research on my topic, read some books and used every available source to gather information for my research.

We were previously given the format for the presentation by the tutor to enable everyone to carry out their presentation smoothly.

The format for our presentation is as follows:

*

* Title

* Contents

* Rationale

* Literature Reviews

* Objectives and Research Questions

* Data collection/methodology

* Ethics

* Results/findings

* conclusions

* Lessons learned from the project

* References

* Question and Answer

This indeed made it a lot easier for the presentation as I was able to add the information I had gathered for my research into the tables.

My research topic is ‘Evaluating the impact of Artificial Intelligence on higher education in the UK’. And I already had my research aim and research objective

My research objectives are

To critically evaluate the impact of AI-driven personalised learning platforms on student engagement in UK higher education.

To investigate the ethical and privacy concerns associated with AI implementation in UK higher education and suggest strategies to alleviate these issues.

The rationale for my research is ‘AI is revolutionizing higher education by enhancing learning outcomes, improving organizational efficiency, and simplifying advanced research.

Also, Understanding AI’s impact is important for educators, students and policymakers to sway its benefits and alleviate challenges.

I have also carried out a literature review of my research which is as follows:

AI’s role in enhancing educational methods is significant. AI-driven personalised learning platforms such as Coursera and EDX, are utilized to cater for individual student needs, promoting a more tailored learning experience (Luckin et al.,2016)

The University of Edinburgh, for example, has implemented an AI-driven assessment tool that gives instant feedback on student assignments helping students to refine their skills iteratively (Luckin et al.,2016).

I have the conclusion for my presentation slide to be this:

“As AI continues to advance, its integration in higher education requires a balanced approach that prioritises benefits while addressing privacy concerns. Continued research and dialogue among educators, policymakers and technologists are essential to fetch the full port of AI in shaping the future of higher education”
