Using the research findings of the whole class, each student will complete a Visitor’s Guide to Space. Using a rubric, students will identify key information for their guide, such as information about the moon, galaxies, the stars, history of planets and the sun. Genre specific non-fiction writing criteria will also be assessed. Through teacher and student observations, student engagement in the research will be noted as well. We will be adding a QR code technology element in which the information for each planet will be stored. This will be accessed from a book compiled by the students. We will also focus the book information to address the needs of Freddie the Frog in his space exploration expedition.
