First, Fire wall and original copy of antivirus are the most important things we must use and install in our computer up to date. 
Second, use cloud such as Google drive platform, drop box and one drive in Microsoft platform for back up.
Thirdly, don’t open suspicious attachments or click unusual links in messages or install with unknown sources.
Fourthly, use the browse the web safely.
Fifthly, be aware of your Wi-Fi is secure in case of public places.
Sixthly, use strong password for computer and sensitive files.
Finally, use hard drive, CD, flash memory is another way we can storage our data safely.
Those three ways are the most common and easy way we can use to protect operating system, our data and computer as well as from any threat and hacked or los the data from our computer and prevent to lose them.
