The American Dream

What is the American Dream? The definition of the American Dream is that every US citizen should have an equal opportunity to achieve success and prosperity through hard work, determination, and initiative. Everyone has a  different theory  of what the American dream is. The American Dream can be what that specific person wants it to be. There can be various categories as to what the American Dream, but somehow they all come back to financial issues. 

After reviewing several charts and graphs on the American dream they all have one thing in common, money. Why is money so important in the American Dream? In order to accomplish anything in life you need money. If you cannot afford to go to college then you will most likely not receive a decent, well-paying job. Without a decent job how can you provide for yourself if you are unable to pay bills. People who do attend college more than likely have to take years and years to pay off their student loans. Seven out of ten seniors who graduated from a public colleges with a student loan debt average of $28,950. Over the past decades the nations income growth has dropped tremendously and the cost for college tuition has increased. Times have changed and people are not able to receive a decent paying job without a college degree like you could back then, I think this is another reason why the income growth has decreased. 
My take on the American Dream is going to college and follow in the steps of becoming a Radiologist. After I have a job to support me I would like to build my own house in the hills of Paintsville, Kentucky and buy the newest Jeep Wrangler. I would love to travel the world and then start a happy family.

Everyone has some sort of American Dream that they want to achieve in their lifetime. After doing lots of research and looking at many charts everyone´s dream has resulted into a financial based dream. I believe the American is not possible for everyone to achieve.  Not everyone has a lot of money and the people who do not have much lose hope of their dream because they feel like they cannot accomplish it without money.
