         <description><![CDATA[<div>English architecture is very characteristic of the city of<br>Valparaíso, the cultural capital of our country. The houses of this style are mixed with the rest of the houses in all the hills of the city.<br><br>The architecture of the hills has historically been characterized by a variety of resources to relate to the landscape. They have corridors, balconies, galleries and viewpoints in the houses that form intermediate spaces that enliven their volumetry, play with the unevenness of the land with wooden pillars (like stilt houses) that support these cantilevers, and create the characteristic perspective of Valparaíso.<br><br>On the other hand, the Victorian architecture of Valparaíso. This style of English origin from the mid-nineteenth century, is based on European Gothic architecture designs, although the geometry and forms of its construction are more similar to those of the Renaissance. This style was used mainly in the design of public buildings, churches, etc.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>En algunas calles de Valparaíso era común escuchaba conversaciones en inglés; las señoras acostumbraban a ir la Casa Riddell a comprar sus trajes de seda traídos de Inglaterra, luego pasaban a la Botica Londres por sus cremas y antes de retornar al hogar, pasaban a la Casa Loutit en calle Condell donde adquirían sus revistas inglesas preferidas. Una de las costumbres importadas por los británicos fue el consumo del té.​ Los ingleses de paso por el Puerto sufrían cuando eran invitados por los chilenos, quienes les ofrecían yerba mate. La idea de compartir la bombilla del único recipiente de la infusión con los demás asistentes les estremecía. La sociedad porteña captó aquel desaire y decidió adoptar la tradición británica. Tomar mate pasó a ser signo de mala educación y de falta de higiene. Incluso el diario El Mercurio publicó un artículo en 1846 a favor del té, donde recalcaba que cuando se toma mate, la primera en probarlo debía ser la más anciana de la reunión, que no siempre es poseedora de la boca más pura.​ Actualmente el té de la tarde es llamado por los chilenos "onces",​ una adaptación británica de los "elevenses".</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Chilean sport originated in the town of Valparaiso in the second half of the 19th century by the British and their descendants born in Chile.&nbsp;</div><div>Some of these sports were cricket, tennis, rugby and football.</div><div>Later tennis courts had been built, and then rugby and football clubs were created with British names that continue to be used, as Wanderers and Everton are still present in the port.</div><div><br></div><div><strong>History of these sports</strong></div><div><br></div><div><strong>Cricket:</strong> Cricket is first recorded as having been played in Chile at Valparaiso in 1829 between the crew of two Royal Navy vessels.The countries oldest cricket club, Valparaíso Cricket Club was formed in 1860 and hosted regular matches throughout the 19th and early 20th century between the clubs of Concepción and the Prince of Wales Country Club. These teams mostly contained British expatriates.&nbsp;</div><div>And in 1893, Chile played its first international match against Argentina.</div><div><br></div><div><strong>Tennis:</strong></div><div><br></div><div><strong>Rugby:</strong></div><div><br></div><div><strong>Football:</strong> Football was first brought to Chile by the English that exhibited the sport during visits to the commercial ports such as in Valparaiso. In 1880 Chilean aristocratic families incorporated the sport into their regular rituals which brought the first games in Chilean football. Chile's oldest club was founded in the port of Valparaiso, and it was named Valparaiso Football Club.</div><div><br></div><div>sports initially served as a demonstration of spirit and promoted the health of its followers, but later became an expression of entertainment that would gain spectators and fans.</div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>
