The trip reflected on how the financial institutions were established. What were the purpose and goals of these financial institutions. To understand the problems faced by today’s world in regards to the financial disruption, inequality, regulations of money in to the society, recession , inflation etc it was essential to understand the setup and working of these institutions. From architectural differences (the high and mighty finance on one side, the "flat" and egalitarian religion on the other) to conceptual ones, the clash between the two worlds has never been more bitter. To see the early institution and core idea of finance which to some degree has been forgotten, really opened my eyes to some of the things we forgot in modern finance.

Being able to learn at such a historical area in the heart of the financial district of london and emerging ourselves there was a great learning experience. The guest speakers had such good insight within the industry if sustainable finance. It was a really well planned and thoughtful day out, even without having the initial tour guides with us, the professor did a fantastic job keeping us engaged and entertained throughout the day. Pleasantly surprised as to thé to practical approach to this course when it came to the field trip. I particularly enjoyed the visit to the Bedouin tent and the assimilation to a sort of different way of dealing with Finance which is more grounded, moreover Egalitarian as we are all seating in a circle. It automatically gives everyone a chance to speak freely and openly without having a sense of hierarchy that can be found in traditional banking culture which I particularly enjoyed.
