When it comes to authorship, culture and identity played a big part because for example, WP #3 was based on a social justice theme and I focused on ethnicity and identification because as a hispanic I felt as if I would discover a lot of discrimination as just in general there is already so much racial discrimination among other races.

Texts also impacted my work because I took into aspect other races in my work as we read Bell books and also were informed of Robin Wall Kimmerer and hearing stories really makes you as a person realize things you do not know of.

Reflect on Writing Process

Reflecting on the writing process I think of when I receive feedback from my peers on peer review. When reading my work I only could find small spaces for improvement as the writing made sense to me but because of peer review, I was allowed to see the POV of my peers which allowed my to improve. Times when I did not receive feedback would be when the first writing project we had as I had been absent so when peer review for WP #1 came out, I did not participate due to not asking questions.

The most useful thing I learned about giving meaningful feedback was that we are not just giving suggestions on how to improve we also compliment. Giving feedback is not about pointing out grammar mistakes but it is about connecting with the authors work and giving it good feedback.

My brain automatically thinks of the assignment we had when meeting with a librarian. Before meeting with the librarian I had considered switching my topic to something easier because I struggled to find sources, once I met with her, she introduced me to so many key words which allowed me to actually have to chose from different kinds of sources. I also think of when we learned new strategies like the CRAAP test because it helped verify how effective my sources were.

I used evidence from the sources I chose for WP #3 to support the topic I chose to write on. I used APA style to format my writing and cite what needed to be cited such as quotes, the author and etc.

Some challenges I faced when evaluating my sources were finding good dates, although I chose older dates to point out how far back the situation went, finding good dates with sufficient background was difficult when it came to choosing.

The most important thing I learned in this course was how to differentiate different kinds of writing. I learned that there are not just different styles of writing but there are different kinds of arguments in writing.

My purpose in a lot of my writing was mainly to inform. There was not much of an argument to make because I was writing on a nurses point of view but there was a lot my readers didn't know that I gave a better idea of what it was.

Something else I really enjoyed were the padlets, as a class we didn't only get to communicate through them but we also got to share our opinions anonymously.
