Perseverance keeps me strong.

Example #1: Last semester, I experienced a huge burnout and was having difficulties academically and mentally. I struggled heavily with understanding the material in front of me and keeping up with the assignments. Realizing how my grades were one day, I instantly decided things needed to change, and I fixed my grades.

How does this relate to the theme?

This relates to the theme of perseverance because despite the challenges, I pushed through it all and started to study. I sought help and advice from teachers, put in the hours needed, and slowly but surely improved my grade to be more than acceptable.

Example #3: When I was 5 years old, my mom bought me a little blue scooter for me and my sister to use. I was infatuated with it, but since I was only a little kid, learning how to use this scooter was frustrating, and I'd fall and bleed often. But upon seeing my older sister use it effortlessly, I too wanted to be like her and have fun with it. I fell and scraped myself many times, sometimes losing morale, yet never giving up.

How does this relate to the theme?

Despite the large obstacles that were put into the face of little me, like falling constantly or the handlebars being just as high as my arms could go up. But my sheer determination to use the scooter enabled me to try again and again, making me succeed in learning how to use my scooter and have finally fun with it.

Example #2: 3 years ago, I went through a tough time in life, specifically family loss. This family member meant a lot to me and my family, and trying to move on without them was an incredibly tough task for me. But rather than being paralyzed by grief, I got the strength to do my daily responsibilities, and got support from my family.

How does this relate to the theme?

Family loss is one of life's most challenging experiences, and yet I had the ability to persevere and withstand hardship from this time in my life and move forward, while still honoring my loved one's memory by living my life fully.
