Mr. Leach started class with prayer and students responded appropriately. After prayer he moved through a series of slides that were projected on the front board. During class he spoke about parts of the cells. The students answered questions about how cells from plants and animals were similar and how they differed. Students were allowed to follow along on their devices or take notes on paper.

Mr. Flemer showed Lasallian charism through his teaching style for the day of the observation. Students had been given a prompt the day before class in order to be fully prepared for small group discussions. Each small group was responsible to having a discussion about their topic. During this time, Mr. Flemer walked around the room making observations with each group.

Flemer:

In response to a previously assigned writing prompt, students were directed into an engaging small group discussion/share out in response to the prompt. Flemer masterfully demonstrated our Lasallian charism by working his way around to each group and encouraging a collaborative, open discussion, challenging the students to think critically and through a LC lense.
