The plague was spread by infected fleas biting and infecting rats that sneak on to ships and by personally biting some of the people. The plague was also spread by other people spreading their germs to other people.

Many people believed the Black Plague was from God due to their sinning. Some people that believed this would whip themselves and others to try and get get God's forgiveness. Others believed it was because of "bad air". They would carry flowers with them to try to eliminate the "bad air". The real reason was due to rats that had been infected by fleas. The rats were all over the place due to bad hygiene. So that is how people thought the black plague spread and how it actually spread.

People thought different things had caused it things like God's punishment,they thought that they were being punished because of the sins they had committed.They also thought planets made bad air.Jews had contaminated there water,they blamed and persecute Jews.

The people reacted in many similar ways.
1. They fled: if they had the money to do so they would flee to the countryside.
2a. They stayed: If they couldn't afford to leave they would stay (some would charge to take the bodies away and dispose of them)
2b. Others turned to the church and became more devout christians. The flagellants were these and they brought about violence and death.
2c. They rejected God and lost respect for the church and the beliefs of it

What were the symptoms of the plague

The symptoms included coughing up blood, swollen lymph nodes, flu like symptoms, and the first sign of the plague was an ache in the limbs. The swelling of the lymph nodes lasted for 3 or 4 days until they burst.

Europe was changed by the Black Death due to the extreme decrease of population, which attributed to social reform. There was a labor shortage, which lead to serfs demanding pay for their labor. When lords refused to pay serfs, the serfs left to pursue working on their own land. The lords then got angry and began conquest to earn their pay. Therefore leading to the termination of the feudal system. People who had great faith in their church lost faith completely. People started hiring private chaplains or turned to science.

Because so many of the peasants and serfs died, the lords no longer had workers, which resulted in the end of the Feudal System. Many people lost all hope for the future because they had seen their loved ones experience such a painful death. There was also more violence.

Bubonic plague affects the lymph nodes (another part of the lymph system). Within 3 to 7 days of exposure to plague bacteria, you will develop flu-like symptoms such as fever, headache, chills, weakness, and swollen, tender lymph glands (calledbuboes—hence the name bubonic).

The three types of the bubonic plague are the pneumonic plague, which spread by air, septicemic plague, which you got from untreated bubonic and pneumonic, and bubonic plague. Some defining characteristics of the plague is the swollen lymph nodes, fast infectivity, and almost 100% lethality.

bubonic plague: this plague was the most common form of the plague, symptoms: buboes (chicken eggs sized lymph nodes), fever, chills, headaches, muscle aches (flu like symptoms)
septicemic plague: after the bacteria enter the bloodstream it was too late
symptoms: fever, chills weakness, extreme pain, shock, bleeding under the skin, or in other organs
pneumonic plague: this was the most serious form of the plague
symptoms: shortness of breath, chest pain, coughing, (coughing up blood), vomiting
