Have you ever watched Pokemon or played Pokemon Go?

After watching this video, I realise some Pokemon are actually very similar to some real animals. But it is sad that they are endangered because of hunting and habitat loss. The next generation will have no chance to meet them unless we conserve these animals. To save the endangered animals, I think we can start from learning more about the endangered species around Asia and teach our friends and family to protect these animals. Also, people should stop hunting the endangered species for food and fur.

Will you protect the endangered species?

It reached wind speeds of up to 180 mph and was set to travel towards Turks and Caicos. It started close to the equator where warm and wet air above the water rises. Hurricane Irma caused the death of at least ten people and it brought gusting winds of up to 294 kilometers per hour.
Please donate to support Hurricane Irma relief and recovery.

For the method of scientific farming , there are four ways of it ,.First ,is the irrigation , irrigation canimprove the water supply of farming, also ,it can increase the farm production ,also it can solve the farmer'swork since it can use sprinklers to irrigate the fields .second ,is use of machines ,this method can help the farmer a lot ,since the machine can just click a button ,then itwill work and the farmer just did to sit here and watch the machine work ,but it has a disadvantage ,is it can't use in the small field, third,is use the chemical fertilizer and pesticides ,it is the most normal way for the farmer because it is cheap and easy to buy ,also it isn't need a big field ,moreover ,it can also increase the yield of crops .At last ,the method is growing new species ,since it can increasethemost input of the crops , rice is a good example ,rice after the experient ,it become more strong and don't afraid the pest.
So, these are the scientific method of farming.

of the second time in two months, the people of Boston are putting on their high waders. But thanks to the nor'easter that's wreaking havoc on the East Coast, the city may suffer through near-record -- or maybe even record -- high tide levels over the next two tide cycles that will occur before midnight Friday and late Saturday morning. A scary high tide happened late Friday morning but it only reached 14.67 feet -- close but not a record-breaker.Still, water filled streets in East Boston and nearby towns.

Comment: I think so sad of the Boston city have flooding .Now is in summer ,summer monsoon will come and it wll have the rain easily and it will east to cause landslide and flooding. The boston people will have people died and some food problem because the flooding water will let the food become bad and it cant put it into mouth .People need to prepare. In my opinion ,The USA government need to put some money to prepare flooding, like it can buy some cans food and buy some scarf and felt because Boston temperature is -49 and it is colder than winter. I think boston citzin didnt have enough prepare so government need to have some doctor to heal them and help them .At same time ,all city in usa or in the world need to do some prepare first .Hope all boston people will have a basic and comfortable life again

It make their supply not enough to the population.
Global Food Crisis

Description: Farming, the largest human endeavor on Earth, uses more than 38% of the ice-free land. However, only 55% of the world's crop calories feed people directly while the remaining feeds livestock, biofuels and industry. Especially, 25% of the world's food calories are lost and wasted. By 2050, the world will probably face serious global food crisis as the world's population will likely increase to 9.2 billion. To feed that population, crop production will need to double. What we have to consider is that agriculture emits more greenhouse gases than that of vehicles while clearing habitats for farmland accelerates the loss of biodiversity. Thinking about priorities, stop cutting down forests, growing more on the farms we have got, using resources more efficiently, changing our diets, reducing waste and so on are the best solutions of easing the food crisis.

Reflection: From my point of view, people in many developed countries do not aware the necessity of reducing waste. Most of them are just living in luxurious and comfortable conditions and never ever care about what they have wasted. According to the video, food shortage happens in many less developed countries seriously when we are enjoying our yummy meals every day. What a huge gap! A long period of food shortage leads to famine and soon people will suffer in malnutrition. Many innocent lives will leave the world for good eventually due to hunger. Therefore, all we can approach to do from now on is to lower the demand of limited food supply and resources by consuming more vegetables than meat in order to ease the large demand on crop production, and also send relief to the needy. Nowadays, many international organizations for fundraising are established so many advertisements and promotions can be found on TV. The cost to end the world hunger is just less than 1% of the national income of 22 countries who have pledged to donate. Depressingly, only five of them have met their pledge. Many people are always shutting their ears, looking on with folded arms and then continue to waste things and do whatever they want. They are being selfish. In fact, hunger is not just a stomach thing but a food crisis. Let’s solve it!

In Side-By-Side Test, Recycled Wastewater Tastes Better Than Tap

Discripton:
This is an article about IDR-treated tap wastewater. In a paper published recently in the journal Appetite, scientists from the University of California, Riverside had 143 subjects sample water from conventional tap water tap water, bottled water and IDR-treated tap wastewater. Then, most of them think the tastes of IDR-treated tap wastewater and bottled water are similar, and better then the taste of conventional tap water tap water.

Reflection:
I think IDR-treated tap wastewater is really important to our earth, especially the arid area. Although many people are worried about recycled wastewater, but when we added to the water supply that flows from our taps at home and make them into IDR-treated tap wastewater, it will be even cleaner and it's taste is also better then conventional tap water. I think it may also be more acceptable for us. Now, there are already six States' water agencies employing IDR-treated wastewater, (e.g. the Water Replenishment District of Southern California) Also, the Kansas Health Institute said that they would strongly consider to use IDR-treated wastewater for industrial use. Most citizen in Kansas said that they accept that the government use IDR-treated wastewater to irrigate the parks, schools and golf course but they can't accept that someone using IDR-treated wastewater to irrigate the crops or washing the cars. It seems that it may help us to solve the water problem, but it's not easy for people trying to drink it.

First reason of it is the technology, nowadays the technology is high developed, so there are a lot of different kinds of refrigerator，they are all having high holding capacity, when the poeple buy the refrigerator, they would buy more food to fill the refrigerator, but they can't eat toomany food, so there would have a lot of food are wasted, so there would happen a serious food waste problem.

Reflection: After I read this video, I know the severity of the food waste problem. I think besides the development of technology, the awareness of the human to buy less the food is important. it is because the technology is just a tools to assist the human to live, the human should have a clear and clever mind to use the tools , so the technology would not become the main reason of we waste the food, on the other hand, I think the education of the teenager is also very important since nowadays, the new born didn't cherish the resource they have, they always watse resources not just food, so I think if the goverment and school can teach more concept of preciousness of the resources, the food waste number will decrease effectively.

Descroption:Floodins,g is a natural hazard that happened when the water level of the river channel is higher than the river bank, water overflows. Physical and human factors may cause flooding. Two important points that cause flooding are the problems of the amount of riveer flow and the holding capacity of the river.

Reflection:Flooding is a natural hazard that may kill a lot of people and animals, it may break the building and crops. Human build dam to control the water level of the river, but it use up a lot of money and land to build dam. I think people have solve the problem of flooding, physical and human factors may cause flooding , such as heavy rainfall and deforestation, they will effect the water level and holding capacity of the river. Some physical factors also aremade human, the human activity will effect the water cycle and the weather, so they cause heavy rainfall and typhoon. Deforestation and poor farming pratices reduce the volume of water that the river can hold, they make more silting. There are more reason cause flooding, so I thinkthe government should teach or set up law to control people to use land or water for reduce the number of flooding.

Description : I have read an issue about the problems and prospects of food production.Improvements are needed in balancing the problems associated with population growth and food production.A review of the problems of rapid population growth and declining food production and suggestions for resolution are given. The food production problem is technical, environmental, social, political, and economic.

Reflection : After I read this issue, I have learnt how seriousness of the problems and prospects of the food production. World population has increased over the past 10 years by 760 million , which is equal to adding the combined population of Africa and South America. Future increases are expected to bring total population to 6.1 billion by the year 2000 and 8.2 billion in 2025. Food production/capita has declined since 1971 in the world and in Nigeria, particularly in the recent past. I have also learnt about Various scientific and technological methods for increasing food production are identified: mechanization, irrigation, use of fertilizers, control of weeds and insects, new varieties of farm animals or high-yielding strains of grain, land reclamation, soil conservation, river basin development, adequate storage facilities, infrastructure development, and birth control. Also, Environmental problems need urgent attention. Some of these problems are soil erosion from mechanization, water salinization from irrigation, accumulation of DDT in food and water and animal life from pesticide use, and water pollution from chemical fertilizers. For example, food production can be increased with more ecologically sound practices.
Information about weather and weather forecasting allows for more suitable land management.Solar radiation is a significant feature in production of dry matter and yield. Shifting cultivation and land tenure systems should involve conservation farming techniques. organic manures and appropriate use of chemical fertilizers can raise soil fertility. There all are the solution of the problems and prospects of food production that I have learnt from the issue.

Prime Minister Visits Slavonski Brod after Water Pollution

Description:
Water pollution happens when toxic substances enter water bodies such as lakes, rivers, oceans and so on, getting dissolved in them, lying suspended in the water or depositing on the bed. This degrades the quality of water. Not only does this spell disaster for aquatic ecosystems, the pollutants also seep through and reach the groundwater, which might end up in our households as contaminated water we use in our daily activities, including drinking. The water pollution will decrease the water supply.Water pollution can also make the water shortage.
Reflection:
From this news, the people of Slavonski Brod and the surrounding municipalities who get water from the local supply plant were left without drinking water as it was established that it is polluted with hydrocarbons and cannot be used even after being boiled.Water pollution is common in the world now.It is because the economic development is very fast. We need a lot of water to produce a lot of products. We not only use our countries water. We also use other countries water because we will import the product from other countries. Some factories want to save the cost so they will drain the polluted water to the river or sea directly. The freshwater in the world is 3%. Most of them are in the ice cap and glaciers. But they still let the freshwater supply decrease. It may make the water shortage more serious. I think we need to use less water. But now most of the farmer is low technology to farm use less water. Some countries water price is very low so they will waste a lot of water. I think we need to have a shower instead of bath ,turn off the tap while brushing your teeth ,reuse the pasta cooking liquid ...A lot of ways to save the water ,why not we don't do it? We must save the water because I don't want to my children in the future don't have enough water to use.If we still waste the water, the Earth will be destroy by ourselves so let conserve the water now.
https://www.total-croatia-news.com/politics/27104-prime-minister-visits-slavonski-brod-after-water-pollution

Description:In early July 2013, because of heavy rainfall, much of southwest China experienced a serious flooding.Sichuan was the hardest hit. At least 73 people were died and 180 people were missing.About 6 million lives were disrupted by the floods. The main factor of the flooding is Deforestation.

Reflection:I think the Deforestation in China is very serious.Deforestation means the people cut trees on a large scale. The transpiration from trees and infiltration decreases. Therefore, there is less moisture.

On the whole, evaporation from the ground decreases in the long run.The atmosphere in the area becomes drier,so precipitation decreases. It may cause flooding.Because of the people cut a lot of trees in Southwest China, and it is near Chang Jiang,so Sichuan have flooding easily.I think the government need to controll the Deforestation and planting trees.Like Japan, when people cut one trees, they need to plant one trees.I think it is a good method because it can prevent the flooding and protect the environment.

Wong Nim On,Leanne 2C (15)

Overdrawing groundwater

Groundwater is an important water resources instead of using the polluted water in the lakes and seas. However, human being use too much of that. That cause a lot of problem. Like land subsidence that may cause the collapse of the building since the well reach the dry soil and no water to support the building on the ground as before. Secondly, the water quality may be worse. Since the excessive water pumping from the well, the salt water toward inland and upward. Thirdly, it will reduced surface water supplies. It is because groundwater and surface water are connected. When groundwater is overused, the lakes and rivers connected to groundwater can also decrease their supply.

Also surf on this website for more information of groundwater http://www.groundwater.org/get-informed/groundwater/overuse.html

'Irreversible' subsidence is causing Beijing to sink

There are news about the result of overdrawing groundwater. That is land subsidence of Tian Jin. Rhat is one of our example to warn us our low amount of groundwater.

If the problem became more serious, the supply of water may decrease rapidly and effect the convenience of us. Therefore, we should treasure our groundwater.

Reflection: After reading the article in the website, I have learnt that the water resource from groundwater is important to us. However, the people did not treasure it and always use a lot of water from well and the freshwater have been decreased rapidly. That cause lots of problem and that make inconvenience to us. I think that we should treasure and draw less water from the groundwater. First, about the ways to treasure water. I think that we can reduce water from our daily life. For example, we should take shower but not bath. Also, feeding the animals like chicken, cow or pig need a lot of water. That we may eat less meat to reduce the water footprint and the possible resources of groundwater. Additionally, I think that government should ban the well overdrawing. That can help the stabled water supply in groundwater. Secondly, I think that we should use less paper and plant more trees for infiltration in the groundwater. Also, the people that overdrawing too much water should be educated to use less water. All in all, we should treasure the water resources and give a hand to our beautiful environment and the water resources. I think that the news about land subsidence give us inspiration and we should really solve the low amount of fresh water supply.

Cheng Yu Tung 2C (4)
Description:
Nowadays , Chinese people have grown hungry for fatty, high-protein foods so they use more land to grow and meanwhile China has left the country short of land on which to grow produce and raise livestock. To solve the problem , China also buy the food from North and South America but this also affects the global food supply.
Reflection:
I think China people should decrease the amount of eating these fatty, high-protein foods because if people want more , the people will produce more and finally it decreases the farmland. It affects the food problem of China. Therefore , Over the past two decades, China buy the food and land from other countries. You may think it is a way to solve the problem but it's not. If China use the land and buy the food from other countries , this will make other countries' land and food supply become less and affect the global to face the food problem. Therefore , it is not a good result. People should reduce the time of eating these food and do not use too many farmland. Maybe people can eat fish to instead of eating the food which produce on the farmland. I think the government should be more care to this problem and to tell the people not to eat too many or the bad result to let people know and reduce the amount.
http://www.businessinsider.com/china-alarming-food-problem-2017-6

Water pollution may end human life
Description : Fresh water, ocean water, ground water pollutions can damage life in the ocean and freshwater, the effect continues up the global food chain, as animals that feed on fish and other aquatic life take in pollution. Say if mercury pollution, that comes from industrial activity puts toxic mercury in the ocean, where fishes eat it. When humans afterwards eat those fishes, they would face mercury poisoning.
Reflection : I believe that the pollution of water resources will affect human health and even threaten human life. So first of all, the government should pay attention to this issue, strengthen environmental protection education, raise awareness of environmental protection, let citizens understand the destructive nature of water after pollution, and tell them that the quality of the ecological environment is directly related to the quality of our lives and even to the future development, so that they have the idea of protecting without polluting the water resources. Second, the government should try to green the country’s water resources so that the planted food will not be affected by the water resources and cause food problems. Third, strengthen the control of urban waste water pollution .
Some of the water that has been polluted by humans will flow into the sea, and some will become planted water, which will destroy the food chain. As the top of the food chain, we will also be affected by water pollution. So, we want to appeal to everyone to protect water resources.

But there may also be torrential rains, along with the melting of snow, posing a big challenge for engineering technicians.
Reflection
This news reflects the power of water, but also makes me very worried. The construction of the dam up water in order to reduce the harm to the residents, but also by water dam defeated, residents also make personal safety is threatened, such aforementioned dam can still do the job? Damage to the dam, it may be because of the power of water, but do the government departments and the parties have regular, periodic inspection for the dam to make it? In the article, we can see a lot of local cement dam has come off, and the government there is no repair dams to prevent accidents it? In the last news, the author lists 12 events, caused by the impact of the dam, including: China Banqiao Dam, in 1975, the collapse of the Banqiao dam collapse, death toll over 170,000. The role of the dam many, but the most important is still to protect the safety of residents, and the dam was unable to help themselves, so how to protect the residents do? Therefore, the Government should pay more attention there is no damage to the dam, so as to truly protect the population. When you see those 12 events, I also doubt the ability of the dam, hope that the Government address the issue, to find a better solution.

Mak Ching Yan (13)
Description: The water crisis will lead to four kinds of crises, namely women's crisis, health crisis, children's and education crisis and economic crisis. A women's crisis is because in poor countries women are often responsible for collecting water. Lack of water and sanitation lock women in a cycle of poverty. A health crisis is because water crisis will reduced child and maternal mortality rates in poor countries. A lot of people in poor countries can't get clear water to use in daily life, because they don't have enough money to buy water from other countries, it will lead sick to people easily. A children's and education crisis is because in poor countries children are often responsible for collecting water to help their families. So, they don't have enough time to study, play games because they need to find water resources to help their family. An economic crisis is because in poor countries, a lot of people spend time to gather water or seeking safe sanitation. So, no people go to work for companies, and the companies will lost a large number of economic opportunities. And it will lead economic crisis after a long period of time.

Reflection: I think water crisis has great impact on people, so we should solve it as soon as possible. To solve the water crisis in poor counries, I think the government should give the right to the women first. Because the main problem of water crisis in the poor countries is don't have enough money. If give the right to the women, they can go to work and it will improve the economic level of the countries, so the government can buy water from other countries to solve this problem and a lot of problem will be solve. Also, the government should provide more employment opportunities to improve the economic level to prepare for the future water crisis. At last, I think we should more cherish the water resources, not to waste easily, because there are other people in the world lack of water, we can save the water to help them.

Many people die from hunger everyday, but there are still people wasting tons of food. How does this problem cause? It may because of the unequal wealth distribution. It can be difficult to trace back to when the distribution of wealth become so unbalanced. If they cannot afford the price of the food, they may suffer from starvation.
Reflection:
After reading to this article, I found that unequal food distribution is really a serious problem nowadays. People indeveloped countries will never worry about food shortage or starvation. However, in developing countries, they are suffering from starvation or even die from hunger.
These are all because of the unequal wealth distribution. People who from developed countries are rich and they can afford the price for buying food but people in developing countries are poor to afford the price for food. In addition, the environmental situation of some developing countries are poor, for example the soil is poor and low annual rainfall... These problems can also cause starvation.
-

Wong Shuk Lin ELAINE (16)

And as demand for food increases around the world, supply capacity is struggling to keep up with these changing requirements - with potentially dire consequences for every nation.
REFLECTION: As we can see the population of our world is increasing. Therefore the food demand keep increasing too.In the next generation or even this generation not only the poor people don't have food to eat , even people in developed countries don't have food too.I think the reason of this problem is because there are not many farmland the place we use to raise animals and farming is used for residential use.The way to solve this problem is still finding, should we all stop having babies or we kill some of us to stop the increasing number of population.Of course No.But what we can do?Nowadays, scientists are finding ways to provide a new kind of meat for us to eat .The scientist claim that we can easily use some material to creat it and it's texture and taste like real meat.I hope we can make a better world
Photo:https://www.google.com/search?client=ms-android-samsung&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=HUrHWpGqKorG0ATj8p7QAQ&q=+food+problem&oq=+food+problem&gs_l=mobile-gws-img.3..0j0i30l3j0i7i10i30.4202.5356..7706...0....164.1246.7j5..........1..mobile-gws-wiz-img.......35i39.BZw94WAFSBo%3D#imgrc=NiVcGLOvz34X7M:

We can see this river contains a lot of pollutants, but people still using the river water for human use because they think this is a holy river. They even take baths and swim in the river. The most horrible thing is they often pour bone ash or even dead body in the river.
Reflection:
The water pollution of Ganga is extremely serious. The river water contains too much pollutants that will affect people's health.Although government has already warned people for throwing rubbish and different kinds of pollutant, the water pollution didn't improve,it still affecting people's health.I think the government should set some laws to punish the people who throw rubbish to the river. Also I think the government should educate the people that the way they think they are worshiping the river is polluting the river. They should stop taking baths or even pouring bone ash and dead body as worship.
They should realize that they should stop doing those activities or the their holy river will be polluted. The government should teach the people to value the importance of water conservation.Water is very important to our life.If the water pollution of the river is serious, people may die or cause serious plague.By the way, the government should find ways to improve the water pollution and protect the water quality.

It told us most North Koreans lacked access to basic healthcare or sanitation and North Korea has recurrent natural hazards. Also, amidst political tensions, many North Koreans continue to suffer from food insecurity and undernutrition. These causes the hunger problem in North Korea becomes more serious.Reflection:After reading this news, I feel deeply sympathetic to North Koreans. They and I live in Asia too, but unfortunately their lives are much more painful than my life, nearly half of the total population in North Korea are undernourished. Rations of items such as cereals and potatoes had been reduced from 380g per person per day to just 300g for several months last year. Don’t mention taste first, just 300g food cannot even make a child feel full! I can’t image how do North Koreans lives without enough food. I think the largest problem to causes hunger in North Korea is the international sanctions in North Korea, it affected humanitarian efforts, making it more difficult for agencies to transfer funds and equipment. It is a serious problem to hunger in North Korea, but this problem is difficult to solve. So, I think it is hard to help North Koreans to solve hunger.

Global Food Problem Chloe Cheung (5)

DESCRIPTION

Do you know how serious is the global food problem today ? Here i am going to talk about the causes of this problem.

Firstly, the population grows rapidly. This means that the demand of food increases. This make the food problem become more serious.

Secondly, the poor farming methods led to the salinization and soil erosion.

Since then, the land that suitable for farming decreased. Also the supply of food decreased.

Last but not the least, the physical factors such as drought and flooding will destroyed

the field and crops. As a result, the supply of food decreased.

Reflection

According to the above causes, I found that there are physical factors and human factors that will cause the food problem. Although we can’t stop the physical factors,

we can control and even stop the human factors which will led to the food problem.

For instance, the governments in less developed country can distribute contraceptive pills to women. This can lower the risk of pregnant. Moreover, government can set up small-scale school which can teach farmers some suitable and sustainable farming methods. This can lower the speed of salinization. From this 2 solutions, we can see that if the governments have the heart to change this problem, it is possible. However, some less developed country’s governments do not have a good planning. Therefore, until now many people from these countries still suffer from hunger and malnutrition.

From a research, I knew that every second, there is people die due to the food problem. I feel really sorry about this so from now on I will not waste food anymore and I hope those country’s governments can solve the food problem as soon as possible. Therefore, fewer people will die because of this.

Salmon and sea trout are among the dead fish and the number was rising. Sea trout, salmon and brown trout have been spawning in recent weeks, but the spawn may be unsuccessful because of the pollution.

We can see how water pollution affect the living things through this issue. Water pollution will cause the damage of the living habitats of the animals in the river. The spawn of the fish may also be unsuccessful, then the fecundity of fish will decrease. Even affect the food chain as other bigger fish do not have enough food. Human also may be affected because there is not enough fish for eating, such as salmon. The bad smell produced by dead fish also affect people. To solve this problem, government should set up laws to protect the water supply. Limit the sewage produced by the factories and the rubbish produced by people nearby the river can help reduce the serious problem of water pollution. Otherwise, the state of the water pollution will be worse and worse.

The real problems are structural in nature and are a legacy of the Apartheid era. Black South Africans continue to face significantly higher levels of unemployment than their white counterparts, and the geography of urban poverty has remained amazingly rigid. The real solution to South Africa's urban food insecurity problem is poverty alleviation. I feel very sad that the poor people need to live in poor.

2c (17)
Water resources

Which is the largest dam in the world?

Description:

The largest dam in the world is Tarbela Dam. It is an earth fill dam on the Indus River. It is the dam which has largest structural volume . It’s holding capacity is about 13.69 cubic kilometres. It costs about 1.497 millions USD and it is built by Pakistan. Its existing hydropower facilities supply about 16% of the electricity generated in Pakistan. The primary purpose of the Tarbela Dam Project was to regulate the flows of the Indus River for irrigation use. This project is in fact part of a wider set of infrastructure projects, the so-called Indus Basin Irrigation System (IBIS), which is the world’ s largest irrigation system. Other objectives were to achieve substantial generation of hydroelectric power and flood control by conserving snow melt and monsoon flows of the Indus River.

Reflection:

Although building this dam can make a lot of benefits and the government there is going to expand it, I don’t agree this expansion. Here is the details of expansion of the dam. The World Bank is financing the Tarbela Fourth Extension Project to increase the dam’s ability to produce electricity by more than a third. The financial institution argues in fact that the country’s need for energy is increasing and that widespread blackouts might lead to major outcries in the country. USAID and US government are also using the same argument for co-financing the Tarbela project and other similar ones. Moreover, the Government of Pakistan planned to build five more river development projects by 2016 that would further deteriorate the ecosystem of the Indus basin and displace families: Diamer-Bhasha, Kalabagh, Munda, Akhori and Kurram Tangi dams. Affected communities in the Indus delta have been actively protesting the devastating impacts of the existing water development projects; the Tarbela dam caused itself the displacement of at least 100,000 people; many of them have not been properly compensated nor resettled.

Also, more habitats in there will be destroyed by the expansion.

Description:
This is a song related to the water pollution. The song talks about harmful effects of environment and human being. The song also talks about some kind of solution.
There are lots of pollution such.as sludge, mercury.oil and manure lapoons. They float on or intergrate into water. In Only2.5%of clean water can be used by human.Farmers use manure lapoons to farm in order to have more crops. But this action are polluting the surrounding soil and water seriously.Water is important for every species.Water pollution directly affects the ecosystem and cause diease.Especially when water cotains nitrogen and phosphorus may cause eutrophication.Species diversity decreases.Society at globle develop better and have higher living standard ,when higher the population the supply decrease at the same time.Water shortage happans .And nothing can help cause human waste too much .
Reflection:
Through this homework ,i become more aware.of water pollution and know the long term effects that it can bring.I found that i had wasted.a lot of water sources.I feel sorry because the water sources are precious. Our posterity could not enjoy the sources and species would become extict because of ancestors 'wrong behavior.A new was spread in 27th December 2016,Sing Pao Daily News said that the water evaporates 30 million cubic meters above every year .This surprise me !We can't solve water shortage even there us no water pollution .The globle warning will increase the evaporation of water .
According to the United Nations, they claimed that the anount of city in the world would increase 160％ in 2030.The groundwater of nearly half of the city is polluted seriously .Half of them are industrial waste .⅓of them cannot be resolve. This pollution breaks the balance of water resources.Drought and flooding were more frequency .
Population increases rapidly .Water resources are uneven .We should let every people have water to use but not just for development .Every people should have rights to enjoy water cause it should be the basic rights of human being .From noow on ,i will follow the instruction of Hong Kong Government ,reduce water to let our live better.
I am Kwong Tsz Ki 2C (08)

2C(29)Wilson Ng
Description:
One of the food problem is the global food problem.People pay less attention about the food safety. Most of the people think that the crops and food grow from the farmers is healthy and good. However, some farmers grow crops with bad fertilizers. Therefore, food safety is important for people.
Reflection:
I think the global food problem, food safety,is important and need to be pay more attention. The government should crack down these bad farmers.Another food safety is about the food may cause diseases. When certain disease-causing bacteria, viruses or parasite contaminate food, they can cause food-related diseases.Since food-related diseases can be serious, or even fatal, it is important to know and practice safe food-handling behaviors to help reduce the risk of getting sick from contaminated food. According to the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC), “food safety is the assurance that food will not cause harm to the consumer when it is prepared or eaten according to its intended use”. Food-borne diseases are widespread throughout the world. The process by which a foodborne disease spreads begins with the features of the disease.Healthy, or what can be termed as safe food, is food that has not lost its nutritional value.
Therefore, diseases and less attention of food quality are bad for the food safety.

How to Stop Flooding? –Leung Wang Hoi (28)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWGK4CiWxeM

Description:

It is some footage of extreme flooding near Colorados Big Thompson Canyon. It showed massive flooding there. In one of the clips, the person is driving along the road while water was flushing behind the car. In another clip, it showed that crews are setting up for rescues and cars that got flushed into the water. Another one shows that water has blasted the side of the roadway and chunks of the road falling away into the water.

Reflection:

From this footage, I have learnt that the effects of flooding can be very tragic. Therefore, we should try to solve this problem as much as possible. Therefore, we need to know that what factors increase the risk of flooding. Flooding is formed because trees are cut in a large scales, hard and dry soil, steep slopes and so on. To solve this problem, we need to think of ways to stop flooding. First, I think we should build or expand more dams and reservoir to control the water level. Second, we should straighten the river channel so that the river can navigate faster. Third, we should build flood walls to keep the water out. Finally, we should do more town planning to ensure that waterways are not blocked because when drainage systems are not covered and kept free from objects that chock them, water runs through slowly, it will even cause flooding when it rains. If we don’t think of ways to stop flooding, tragedies like the video above will keep happening, so we need to learn to handle flooding to protect our earth.

This is a song related to the water pollution. The song talks about the harmful effects of environment and human being. The song also talks about the solution.
There are lots of pollutants such as sludge, mercury, oil and manure lapoons. The float on or intergrate into water. In fact, only2.5% of clean water can be used by human being.Farmers use manure lapoons to harvest better crops. But this polluting the surrounding soil and water.Water is important for every living things.Water pollution seriously affects the ecosystem and cause diease. Especially when water cotains nitrogen and phosphorus may cause eutrophication.Species diversity, decreases.Countries develop better and have higher living standard, when high living standard meets the decreasing of water supply.Water shortage may happens. And nothing can help cause human waste too much.
Through this homework.,I become more aware of water pollution and know the long-term effects that it can bring.I found that I had wasted a lot of water sources.I,fel sorry and ashamed because the water sources are precious. Our posterity could not enjoy the sources and species become extinct because of ancestors'wrong behavior.(27 december,2016)Sing Pao said that the water evaporates 30 million cubic meters above every year. This surprise me!It seems that water shortage still happen even there is no water pollution. The globle warming will increase the evaporation of water.
According to the report of United Nations, they claimed that the amount of city in the world would increase 160% in 2030. Nearly half of the the groundwater is polluted seriously.Half of them are industrial waste.1/3 of them can't be resolved. This pollution breaks the balance of water sources.Drought and flooding were more frequently in recent year.
Population increases rapidly.Water resources are uneven. We should let every people enjoy the right of using water but not just fot social development. From now on, I will always remind myself, reduce water and let our life better.
Kwong Tsz Ki 2C(8)

Northern California Oroville Dam Spillway tunnel burst, the brink of collapse, the local government emergency evacuation downstream of the river valley nearly 200,000 residents, engineering and technical personnel to repair the Flood spillway road, the danger is relieved. But there may also be torrential rains, along with the melting of snow, posing a big challenge for engineering technicians.

。
。
。

Water covers 70% of our planet, and it is easy to think that it will always be plentiful. However, freshwater—the stuff we drink, bathe in, irrigate our farm fields with—is incredibly rare. Only 3% of the world’s water is fresh water, and two-thirds of that is tucked away in frozen glaciers or otherwise unavailable for our use.

As a result, some 1.1 billion people worldwide lack access to water, and a total of 2.7 billion find water scarce for at least one month of the year. Inadequate sanitation is also a problem for 2.4 billion people—they are exposed to diseases, such as cholera and typhoid fever, and other water-borne illnesses. Two million people, mostly children, die each year from diarrheal diseases alone.
Description:

Many of the water systems that keep ecosystems thriving and feed a growing human population have become stressed. Rivers, lakes and aquifers are drying up or becoming too polluted to use. More than half the world’s wetlands have disappeared. Agriculture consumes more water than any other source and wastes much of that through inefficiencies. Climate change is altering patterns of weather and water around the world, causing shortages and droughts in some areas and floods in others.

we need water every day but there are many water problems ,like water shortage, water pollution and flooding.we need to cure these problems so we can use the water in different ways safely.

News about water shortage:

https://globalnews.ca/tag/water-shortage/
