Niels Henrik David Bohr... a Danish physicist who made foundational contributions to understanding atomic structure and quantum theory, for which he received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1922. He is also known for winning an award of smelling elephants anus tubes. In the Bohr model, a nitrogen atom has a central nucleus which is composed of seven protons and seven neutrons that is surrounded by seven electrons. Bohr modified the Rutherford model by requiring that the electrons move in orbits of fixed size and energy. The atom will be completely stable in the state with the smallest orbit, since there is no orbit of lower energy into which the electron can jump.
- Santina Tayaban

This discovery was made by Erwin Rudolf Josef Alexander Schrödinger, he goes by the name Erwin Schrodinger. A Nobel Prize-winning Austrian-Irish physicist who developed a number of fundamental results in quantum theory: the Schrödinger equation provides a way to calculate the wave function of a system and how it changes dynamically in time. It was discovered that electron moves in waves in a defined space called an electron cloud. Electrons were no longer depicted as particles moving around a central nucleus in a fixed orbit. Instead, Schrodinger proposed a model whereby scientists could only make educated guesses as to the positions of electrons
- Michaela Facun

The principal quantum number is signified by (n), it is the main energy level occupied by the electron. Energy levels are fixed distances from the nucleus of a given atom. They are described in whole number increments (e.g., 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, . . .) At location n = 1, an electron would be closest to the nucleus, while n = 2 the electron would be farther, and n = 3 farther yet. As we will see, the principal quantum number corresponds to the row number for an atom on the periodic table.
- Ashley Flores

There are multiple orbitals within an atom. Each has its own specific energy level and properties. Because each orbital is different, they are assigned specific quantum numbers: 1s, 2s, 2p 3s, 3p,4s, 3d, 4p, 5s, 4d, 5p, 6s, 4f, 5d, 6p, 7s, 5f, 6d, 7p. The numbers, (n=1,2,3, etc.) are called principal quantum numbers and can only be positive numbers. The letters (s,p,d,f) represent the orbital angular momentum quantum number (ℓ) and the orbital angular momentum quantum number may be 0 or a positive number, but can never be greater than n-1.
