I know for me it's a struggle just to get him to pick up a pencil, let along complete work. Would you be able to update me using this padlet once a week or so? I will share this with mom so she can be updated realtime. Thank you very much!

All you have to do is click the little plus sign in the lower right hand corner to open a new post.
Science - Mrs. Luckow. Today in science Jonas got frustrated and started hitting the table. I sat by him and asked if he was ok several times. He kept saying he was fine, and I said he was not fine based on how he was behaving. I had to ask 3 times, and ask how I could help him. I then gave him options, to go to Mr. Hendricks, go somewhere else, or whatever he needed. He then asked to move to another table away from students that were not on task. Kudos to him for making a decision!

Jonas is a little behind on his research paper writing. I'm working to try to check in with him each period, but I'm at the point where I'm conferencing individually with students so it is more challenging. He can work on it at home as well.

Jonas likes the idea of being part of a real great bunch of talented, on task kids. He has the knowledge to go further on tuba but is thwarted by the size of the instrument and is obviously unable to practice at home as much as other kids. He recently (with parental encouragement I am sure) made the decision to improve via private lessons with a fine private teacher. Keep working that way Jonas. If you want a loaner tuba for summer practice I can swing that.

Mr. Morgan

Jonas seems to be feeling more confident in his writing. I'm getting better work from him and he is more open to talking with me about it. He's still a bit behind, but his work is improving. I'll keep working to meet him where he needs to be met.

May 17, 2019 Science. Jonas is now working on his last missing assessment in Science. HIs grades are up to 2.5. While I was reminding students about the deadline to retake or complete missing assessments from previous units, Jonas got upset, hitting the table and crying. I quickly clarified to him that the deadline was for other students, not for him. Since we had talked about it already, he has more time to complete the assessments, and he was fine. He felt better after that. Jonas is very responsible and wants to do it right, reason for the reaction.
