Events Leading to American Independence: &quot;They also were not represented in the British Parliament and had no say when decisions were made by the British government.&quot; Tea Time: &quot;The colonies protested that with no one to represent them in England, they had no say in how they were being governed, what items were to be taxed, and how the tax money would be spent.&quot;  </title>
