A code of law was written in Babylon around 1771 BCE, That code was Hammurabi's Code. Hammurabi's code was a collection of almost 300 laws that were written for Babylon. Trench Warfare was warfare by which two sides would dig out trenches and fight each other in them. The trenches protected troops from small arms fire and substantially protected them from artillery. Though the trenches protected soldiers, it made it difficult for troops to advance further distances, which lead to the war being prolonged. Fighting in the trenches contributed to many of the troops suffering from exhaustion and extreme stress. In addition, the conditions of the trenches were sometimes horrible, leading to soldiers getting gangrene in the feet, like called "trench foot".<br>3.
