danforth put Giles in contempt because he would not conffese who told him that Putman was trying to take someones property and getting his daughter to falsely accuse. After reading Mary Warren's deposition Danforth called the girls into his office. He questioned them and gave them an opportunity to tell the truth and they wouldnt. Now he is going to start to hard questioning them to find the truth.
