The Zoot Suit riots and Detroit riots are similar because both are motivated by scarce supplies. In Detroit housing was very scarce and expensive at the time, and the fabric for the Zoot Suits was limited because the military needed it for the war.
2. The Zoot Suits represented Chicano culture, however Americans believed the material Zoot suits are made of needed to go towards war efforts.
