Recognizing and respecting the rights of indigenous communities is essential if we are to move toward a more just and equitable world. This implies guaranteeing their active participation in decision-making that affects their lives and territories, as well as protecting their rights to self-determination, the preservation of their culture and access to fundamental resources such as land and water.

By honoring and valuing the contribution of indigenous communities to cultural and environmental diversity, we are not only promoting social justice, but also strengthening our ability to address global challenges, such as climate change and biodiversity loss, through more holistic and sustainable approaches that respect and learn from ancestral land and natural resource management practices. Ultimately, by recognizing the crucial role of indigenous communities, we are building a path toward a more inclusive, equitable and nature-friendly future for generations to come.
