He is an inspiration of mine as I like his sound and feeling that his music brings. His music is some of the first Drum and bass I listened to when I fell in love with Uk edm. I love the way he incorporates aspects of jazz into drum & bass. I love the atmospheric and groovy feel of his productions. I want to be able to make edm with aspects of jazz due to his influence. I love the oldschool sound within Uk edm genres, particularly the atmospheric style which was peaking in the 90s and early 2000s. Particularly the genres rare groove and acid jazz. Both these genres take elements of many genres but create a sound of electronic combined with jazz. Bukem was introduced to Jazz fusion through his piano teacher in his late teens. This led Bukem to explore the genre which took him to clubs where he would fall in love with the nightlife and club scene and begin to DJ and produce. Smith produced many tracks that are considered classics within the jazz, funk, soul and acid jazz scenes. LTJ Bukem was influenced by Smith as he incorporates elements of Smith's style and the styles of these genres in his own production, giving Bukem the sound he is famous for. Roy Ayers was a key figure in the Acid Jazz movement as well as the Neo Soul movement. Roy Ayer's is often referred to as the "God Father of Neo Soul." Ayers is best known for his tracks "Everybody Loves The Sunshine", "Searchin", and "Running Away". Ayers plays the vibraphone and also has more sampled tracks by hip hop and rap producers than any other artist. Ayers grew up in a musical family and went on to be a hugely influential artist. His album Everybody loves the sunshine was hugely influential with many samples from the tracks within the album being used in Drum and Bass.
