As you know, we have gone to our wider community to offer more clubs to families. We are delighted that Dennis Hayden (Level 3 county coach) has started our table tennis club this week, more students are welcome to sign up via ParentPay.

In addition to this, Turning Pointe Dance Academy are offering a free contemporary Dance taster session (please see flyer above). For any students who attend this, we will share your contact details with the Academy so that they can provide more details about the club they intend to run here at Chailey School. Chailey School - Take Your Child to Work Day - Friday 6th March 2026

Young people in East Sussex can find information, advice and support on a wide range of health and wellbeing topics at Health for Teens.

Health for Teens offers up-to-date and reliable information on topics that matter to young people. The new online resource, aimed specifically at secondary school-aged young people, covers everything from puberty, relationships, growing up and lifestyle issues like alcohol and vaping.

Health for Teens has contact details for local support services, making it easy for young people to find someone to talk to. Teens can contact the School Health Team directly for advice or refer themselves for support.

The East Sussex School Health Service works with children, young people and families and supports schools through the East Sussex Healthy Schools Programme. Teachers can also use Health for Teens when planning RSHE (Relationships, Sex and Health Education) lessons.

Throughout the visit, students heard from staff about their roles, career pathways and the wide range of employment opportunities available within the leisure and tourism sector. Knockhatch employs over 150 staff each year and offers part‑time roles from age 15, making it a valuable local employer for young people. The trip highlighted careers in animal care, customer service, hospitality, creative media, marketing, operations and more, helping students to understand the skills, teamwork and dedication required across different departments. It was a valuable experience that linked learning directly to real-world career possibilities.

Thanks to Year 8 for your superb behaviour yesterday, you were all a credit to Chailey School and we hope you enjoyed the day as much Miss Martin and I did.

Careers & Work-Related Learning Coordinator

As we come to the end of another successful week here at Chailey, we can celebrate lots of our students' successes. Our Year 11s have been working hard on their non-examined assessments in their option classes, whilst our KS3 students have kindly volunteered to tour a number of Year 5 families from local schools around Chailey. The feedback we have received has been wonderful, and those who volunteered are a testament to their families and the school. A highlight of my week has been seeing the choir outgrowing their space and having to use the Drama studio instead, it is wonderful to see so many students participating (see image below). 

Recently we have found ourselves having to lend lots of uniform, please remind your child to make sure they have all their uniform and equipment ready for the school day. If families are struggling, please get in touch and we will do whatever we can to support.
