Books helped me get through my life, it was my coping mechanism. To immerse yourself in a story, to forget about your problems for a while. Back then, my school used to join the Sayaw Kadayawan competition and I am proud to say I was part of it! Dancing is my most memorable experience in life. The nervousness when you're in your positions backstage, the adrenaline when you're in front performing, and most importantly the behind the scenes experience of the show. My dancing experience didn't just revolve around the stage but also the people who I danced together with. They could have menstruation cramps that feel like someone drilled into their stomach and still walk graciously like nothing is happening. Women are not dumb or maids or just your happiness. Women can be leaders, women can drive, women can carry kilos of rice, women are not what you think they are. We should think of women as equal human beings and not some servants that give you grapes while you lay down on your sofa.
