Here at The Center School, we believe each child learns best in their own preferred setting. That’s why we allow children to choose which classroom they feel they would best succeed. Our philosophy is that of a facilitative environment in which we promote self-learning and help students develop critical thinking skills that lead to self actualization. Our philosophy has shown proven success in children grades 1-4, based on the foundation that students learn best when structuring the learning environment to mirror the ways that students CENTER their learning.

All of our teachers have obtained Bachelor's degrees in Early Childhood Education to insure that they have been trained properly to provide adequate knowledge and safety for your children. Each of our teachers have been strategically placed in their proper classroom, to ensure that their specific teaching styles are optimized and are suited best for the children in which they will be teaching. They have been shown to have the ability to work with children who learn through different styles, and are able to accommodate each child's specific needs. This hybrid-style centered learning integrates the teacher's personalities in the interest of the students needs and curriculum.

Our curriculum follows the typical fundamental subjects of mathematics, science, social studies, language arts, music, art and reading. Our primary focus is building the foundation for a well-rounded education through centered learning styles. Although The Center School tends to follow the traditional curriculum, it varies from traditional by replacing performance tests with content centered projects that require an understanding of the topic to complete.

At The Center School, we have six types of classrooms, all personalized to center your child's education through instruction, expression of learning, and assessment to each student’s unique needs and preferences. Each teacher has been particularly chosen to use instruction geared toward the strengths and challenges of each student placed in their classroom. We have found that children are most successful and motivated to learn when given the opportunity to determine their preferred method of learning. Students are provided 100% of the supplies needed to complete the curriculum, as we find that students' success can be greatly impacted when supplies are equally distributed. Thus insuring that each student within one of our six classrooms reaches their full potential at equal opportunity.
