Many german people and the Nazis separated themselves from Jewish people overtime. Instead of being viewed as a German citizen they were viewed as the enemy and the problem. Laws were made to stop Jewish people from holding positions of power and stop them from going to University.Many other anti-Jewish laws were made.

Isolation - separating Jewish people from society

All of the German people were starting to separate from Jewish people entirely. They wanted the Jews to feel like they didn’t belong and that they weren't a part of society. An example of this is when Jewish businesses and shops were boycotted and no longer used by anyone who wasn’t Jewish. They were banned from serving their country in the army, Jewish doctors weren’t allowed to work on German citizens, and many laws separating Jews from the Germans were created.

Emigration - making the conditions so bad for Jews they leave

With many Jewish people isolated, unable to get things they needed, and feeling like they didn’t belong, some felt forced to leave. But sometimes they didn’t even have a choice to leave. Over 17,000 Jews were expelled from Poland with nowhere to go.

Ghettoization - Separate sections in towns were only Jewish people could live and sometimes not leave

The Nazis wanted to take it even further than they already had. They wanted to completely isolate the Jews from the rest of society. In side of large towns they built separated parts, often walled of, to put all of the Jewish people which were called ghettos. They were forced out of their homes to these isolated ghettos and in some cases couldn’t leave there. By 1940, only the second year of ghettos being established, Lodz ghetto held 165,000 people in only 1.6 square miles.

Deportation - Forcing the Jewish people into concentration camps

Nazis took the Jewish people from the Ghettos and forced them into small trains. These trains were over filled with people without any space to do anything but stand. A lot of people were forced to stand for multiple days without a break. These conditions were far from humane but it only got worse from there. These trains took them into the concentration camps where the conditions were even worse. You can see how many people are trying to fit into that tiny trains car.

Mass murder - trying to kill every Jewish person in Europe

The Jews didn’t even have time to process what was happening and they were already getting killed. A lot of people didn’t even make it in the camp before they were killed. The main goal of everything was to make all the Jews feel like they didn’t belong and like they were just animals. They would leave them to sleep on wooden planks and eat just bread and watery soup. After condition like that they were forced to work these exhausting jobs with no sleep or food. The ones they survived were forced to live in torture for over three years. In the end they killed over 6 million Jews and left countless live permanently scarred.
