         <title>Origins Of The Black Death - Part 1</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>The Black Death Originated in Central Asia in 1338/39, It reached China and India by 1346 and Infected the Blacks Sea and port of Kaffa 1347. Rats carried Infected fleas into the town, which was the cause that started the spread of the disease, the ships then transported the infected rats to places like Constantinople, Italy and marseilles during 1347. It out broke in England during 1348 and in 1349 it began in Scotland . The Black Death generally relied on a specific trade route that was popular among the trade China (Central Asia) and Europe, This Routes use increased quickly around the time of the plauge which also impacted the start of the plauge.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Black Deaths first affects the Lymph nodes, you start off with flu like symptoms such as: fevers, headaches, chills, weakness and swollen lymph glands. The black death impacted the infected, religiously, socially and economically, the Black Death was the of the most devastating pandemics in human history. The impact also opened new opportunities as there was more land and jobs as it was not as overly populated. The negative impacts Included the fact that more children at a younger age were being employed more often and there were less people in the military which made it more difficult.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Black Death was a devastating pandemic, the deaths were estimated between 75 to 200 million deaths in Europe alone. Which was a round 30-60% of the nations population. These deaths are the deaths from the year 1346-53. This took the world population from 450million to 350-375 million in the 14th century and the world population as whole did not recover until the late 17th century, the plague also recurred occasionally in Europe until the late 19th Century .<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>At the time of the black death, people were very superstitious, meaning that there were many superstitions about the black death, these superstitions are: <br><br>People believed the Black Death was a form of god punishing you for your sins, People who called themselves Flagellants, believed that their sins could be washed away and they could drive away the devil. They would strip naked, and then beat themselves or each other, they believed that this could wash away sin.<br><a href="http://originsoftheblackdeath.weebly.com/superstitions.html">http://originsoftheblackdeath.weebly.com/superstitions.html</a><br><br>People believed that the Black death was spread from bad air (miasma), So people would prevent this by "cleaning the air". The photo bellow is a image of a plague doctor, The doctors would wear the long beak like mask and in the front would put herbs like rosemary.          <title>Mass Burials</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Mass Burials was commonly used in the time of the black death, as people were rapidly wiped out, people were quickly buried in the same area to save land space and remove of infected bodies quicker. These Graves were commonly referred to as 'Plague Pits'.&nbsp; Evidence of this was found in Liverpool London.<br><br>Multitudes of corpses were brought to churches everyday and there was simply not enough time to give each person a burial, cemeteries became full and were forced to dig big trenches and burry 100's of people.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>During the era of the black death, there was very little knowledge about Health and Cleanliness, so many prevented the plague in ways that did not actually assist them, a few examples of this are; <br><br>People would use incense, like rosemary and juniper, while also dunking handkerchieves in aromatic oils and holding them near the nose and mouth.<br><br>People would also believe that sound was a cure?preventer of the plague and believed that the church bells would ward off the plague.<br><br>Some methods of Prevention such as heat and quarantine where useful and are still used today.<br><br><br></div>]]></description>
