There is a particular type of them that abounds in some regions, and it might seem that it is wasted by the natives, who hardly use wood to facilitate their lives, although it is not scarce. This is for fear of confusing them with the Vipermorus, also called Naja araucaria. Some of them inhabit these forests of bent trees, and they mix with them to confuse their prey. Sometimes they fall asleep in the tree position, and can wake up with the slightest touch. Being so large and wide, they feed on large animals such as bears and buffalo. These snakes can grow up to twenty meters, and their body thickness can be the length of an oar. They are dangerous, aggressive when disturbed. It is also said that its skin is thick like oak wood. Some say they have seen them devour elephants, and as they digest them, they bury themselves, appearing to be large mounds of earth. The inhabitants of these forests avoid them and have learned to differentiate them from the trees with which they camouflage themselves.
