When one becomes addicted they continue to abuse the use of the drug even though it causes harm to the person in taking it. Prescription drug misuse leads to severe medical consequences when used carelessly.

- Feeling anxiety, depression, and irritability.
- Blacking out; losing control over yourself while intaking.
- Having strong urges to take the medicine several times a day blocking out any other thought. 
- Needing more of the medicine over time to reach the same effect.
