The makers of these care guides help people a great deal in keeping their plants healthy and happy. While some plants are relatively inexpensive, there are more that cost a fortune. These creators help save people from lost time, money, and heartache.

We won't always be able to figure out the problem and that is where the care guides come into play.  Plant owners, whether new or experienced, utilize these on a regular basis. If we have some sort of reference of the proper conditions and needs of the plant we might be able to figure out what's wrong in time to save it from certain death.

More often than not, a simple google search of the plant name can lead you to a wealth of knowledge but if you really want the good stuff you might have to go hunting on a platform such as Instagram or Facebook. It's much better to get specific and candid advice straight from an experienced grower than a generalized how to for all houseplants.

This is a great example of a houseplant care guide, it's meant for a specific species of plant not at all generalized.

When it comes to these instruction manuals of sorts, there is really nothing that can be too specific. Some plant owners even make different soil mixes for each specific species of plant they own.

It's too generalized and if you approached all houseplants with this information you would probably kill them.

No two plants are exactly alike and that can cause a lot of discrepancies in how they should be cared for.
Take a Monstera Albo, the variegation (variety in color) can be very unstable on these plants. There are plants that will revert to full green and others that will go completely white. Someone might have made a guide based on a green dominated plant but that plant will have different care requirements than a white dominated plant of the same species.
