This would be easy to implement into my curriculum because in World History we have to spend class time going over notes to some extent. Adding Pear Deck to my Google Slides and making the lesson interactive and having students work in small groups would be a great way to promote collaboration.


Cooperative Comparisons:
I have used Flipgrid in the past and would love to continue using this tool. This can be done with any lesson where students are comparing information or making analogies of the content discussed.

Performance and Peer Critiques:
Google Docs is a tool I use almost everyday. I love all the features of this tool and would highly recommend others to use Google Docs as well. You can use Google Docs to be as interactive as you want or simply use it to have students complete an assignment on their own. There are so many ways to use Google Docs in the classroom.

To complete a cooperative learning assignment using technology I would use Pear Deck, which is a Google Slides extension, to house all of content notes and then at the end of a lesson students would use the interactive capabilities of Pear Deck to complete a chart where they include their own reflections of the lesson. Then meet within their small group and each share their perspective while also typing out their classmates perspective on the lesson as well. This allows for diverse thinking housed right in their own notes.

Cooperative Comparisons:
When having students complete a cooperative comparison, a digital tool that I would have students use would be Flipgrid. This is a tool that allows students to create videos with Flipgrid, that can be linked to Google Classroom. Students can comment on each others videos and even record video responses. 

Performance and Peer Critiques:
A digital tool such as Google Documents would be perfect for an assignment such as writing a research report. With Google Docs, students can add hyperlinks to certain documents to help support their claims. Another feature of Google Docs that I love is that commenting option. Cooperative learning is a strategy that can be used with any grade level and is a great way to deepen students understanding of the content. Cooperative learning is where students complete an assignment or task individually, then once complete they meet in small groups to discuss their answers. This allows students to explain their own thought process as they worked through the information while also hearing other thought processes as well. This allows students to experience diverse perspectives on the content.

Cooperative Comparisons:
With cooperative comparisons, students work together in small groups to answer comparison questions. This strategy would be a higher level thinking strategy and a great way to get students thinking about the depth of the content. For examples students might be looking at why the French Revolution was seen as so unsuccessful and create a analogy that illustrates these reasons.

Performance and Peer Critique:
Performance and peer critique would be done after completing procedural content knowledge and the teacher would assign a demonstration task or performance of the knew knowledge. How I might use this strategy in my own classroom would be to teach the procedures of a well written research paper on the content we discussed. Then I would have students use the knew knowledge they gained on how to go about writing a research paper and completing one themselves.

This strategy promotes collaborative practices and is a great way to bridge the gap from whole class instruction to individual or small group guided practice. 

This process of learning is a great way to encourage students to work with their peers to deepen their understanding on the content that was discussed as a whole group.
