         <title>This is great for autonomy but with a deadline.  Kids pick a topic and work on it however they want to but they have to produce a product (writing, presentation, etc.) by a deadline or &quot;overnight.&quot;  Kind of like 20% time.</title>

         <title>Erin       Yes! Putting students in charge of their own learning.  Providing feedback along the way.  Love having students reflect on their own learning goals!  Compare their self-assessment to teacher&#39;s version.  Also including in P-T conferences could be powerful.  Love this.</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I have done this in my ELA classes a lot! Just on Friday we had a FedEx day for students to research whatever they liked and they were able to share with others in the classroom. In the end students changed seats and naturally grouped themselves into groups that have similar topics because they kept collaborating! It was so much fun to see students who don't usually talk to one another sitting and collaborating on something they are passionate about!</div>]]></description>

Then, the students could make comparisons between the grades they gave themselves and the actual grades they received.</div>]]></description>
