         <description><![CDATA[<div>oil</div><ul><li>80% marine pollution, land activities</li><li>Oil spills</li><li>     -responsible 12% oil  sea Each year</li><li>     -according US National research council, 36% from drains waste rivers from cities, industries.</li></ul><div>fertilizers  </div><ul><li> fertilizer comes/falls out, farms, lawn  huge problem for costal areas</li><li>causes eutrophication.</li><li>it dissolves all the oxygen and suffocates other marine life</li><li> caused a lot of dead zones all around the world like gulf of Mexico </li></ul><div>seas of garbage </div><ul><li>Soild garbage finds its way into the ocean like balloons, plastic bags, plastic, one time use cups...</li><li>if not disposed well ALL our garbage,end at sea.</li><li>plastic garbage often mistaken by marine animals of animals that feed of the ocean like fish and seagulls as food.</li><li>it can block there breathing system and even there digestive system like whales, dolphins, turtles, seals, puffins...</li><li>this garbage sometimes makes its way back to land which in not very good news for us, this can cause major costal and beach pollution.</li></ul><div>sewage disposal </div><ul><li>80% of urban sewage discharged into the <a href="http://wwf.panda.org/what_we_do/where_we_work/mediterranean/">Mediterranean</a> <a href="http://wwf.panda.org/what_we_do/where_we_work/mediterranean/">Sea</a> is  untreated</li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>CAUSES:</div><div>-most plastic is recyclable </div><div><br>-16.5% plastic is recyclable the other ones with other materials is not.</div><div> </div><div>HEALTH CONCERNS:</div><div>-toxis chemicals are dangerous for ground water.</div><div>-harm wildlife and people</div><div> </div><div>MARINE POLLUTION:</div><div>-largest impact has been on marine ecosystem, 10% of all the plastic we use end sin the ocean.</div><div>- 100,000 animals die each year due to mistakenly thinking that something looks like food even though it is plastic.</div><div> </div><div>MICRO-PLASTIC</div><div>- Plastic breaks down to micro plastic, it takes along period of time to break down completely.</div><div>- micro-plastic is very small so anybody can think of it as something to eat without knowing though.</div><div>- Once ingested by the animal it finds its way to people’s (our) meals.</div><div> </div><div>ECONOMIC COST:<br>- countries in Asia-pacific say that they lost $622 million a year due to littering in beaches.</div><div>-and fishing industries, and shipping industries lose a lot of many per year due to this(shipping industries:$279 million, fishing industries: $364 million)</div><div> </div><div>REDUCE PLASTIC WASTE:<br>-decrease the amount of plastic we produced and increase </div><div>-if we don’t recycle wasted plastic then we would be forced to make new plastic which then eventually ends up in the ocean.</div><div>- help by keep wasted plastic from landfill and especially ocean.</div><div> </div>]]></description>
