Conversation, Help, Activity, Movement, Participation, Success. CHAMPS is an acronym for a classroom management approach that is positive and procedural.
Classroom reward system
In the winter it was a snowflake they filled up and this spring it is a flower. They get petals that add up to them having fun Friday. This helps when struggling with things like transitions, noise level, and respect.
Daily schedule with calendar and times.
Allows students to be aware of what t expect throughout the day, during morning meetings they also ask questions about the schedule.

Bathroom Procedure
Students are able to move their picture to whether they are taking a water or bathroom break. They are able to go as long as the Stop sign is not up.

Use nonverbal actions: Physically moving closer to a student, making eye contact.
Praise positive behavior to show students what they SHOULD be doing.
Offer reward system: it could be tickets they get taken away, extra fun friday taken away, etc..
Offer a choice: Would you rather do this activity with your partner the right way or work on this independently.
Go over classroom expectations again. Refresh and remind student what classroom expectations they came up with TOGETHER as a class.

Points towards a reward: Whole class jar, "money system" for a prize,
Fun Friday : Petal system where they earn petals throughout the week that add up to having a fun Friday.
Stickers: for things like having a clear desk, putting things away on time, being at level 0.
Music: music while they work, while doing an assignment
Brain break choice: The students get to choose what brain break they want to do: blooket, Kahoot, teachflix, etc..

Privileged Walk:

The goal of the activity is raise awareness on some unspoken

privileges one might have and to recognize, welcome and embrace the diversity of individual backgrounds and experiences.

Paper Bag Skit:

The Paper Bag Skit is when students become actors, actresses, producers and even directors. Students will be put into groups and create a performance, a drama, a parody, comedy sketch, soap opera (etc.) with everyday objects and more importantly with students' great imaginations and creative powers.
