It showed me just because you're ancestry are something that you don't want to be dose'nt mean that you have to become like them. Our story is our own not our parents. We decide what we need to be or do.

Zak's father was a terroist, but that doesn't mean that Zak is also one. In his Ted talk, Zak talked about his life. He said that his father was his idol, but then his father brought shame to the family. I think that the message of Zak's Ted talk was that you don't need to be like father, like son. He chose not to be like his father and I think that that was the right choice.

Zak changed his name so he wouldn't be like his father(a terrorist).Zak never has any friends because he was always moving and he was getting bullied a lot. You always have a choice to follow the ways of your parents or choose your own path,in this case Zak did the right thing going with the path of freedom with his mom rather than having to be a terrorist like his father. He thought his father was his idol until he did some criminal stuff like putting 1500 explosives in a van and exploding other places.

Zak's TED talk made me think that even if anyone you know or love turns out bad, that you don't need to follow in their steps. In his case, Zak's father is a terrorist who did many bad things, and in his Ted talk, Zak talks about how he is not at all like his father and he changed his name because he did not want anymore to do with a terrorist.I think Zak is also very brave because it takes a lot of courage to tell a big audience that one of your family members is a terrorist because, even though it is really unfair, you may be judged as one also.

He was so embarrassed that he even changed his name. I think he felt really bad but after all that happened he still made the right choice and did not blow anything up. I think Zak was trying to also tell us all that whoever you seem on the outside, if you are gay, catholic whatever it does not matter. What matters is what you are on the inside. Also If you are reading this Zak... HIIIIIIIIIII!

Honestly, I thought that his speech was pretty good! I think that the lesson was that you don't have to be like people that you are related to, nor do you have to be influenced by your culture. Also, it's not right to be stereotyped by the way you religion, or by who your relatives are, and what they did. I agree with this moral, because just because your parents or relatives do something, it dosen't mean that you immediately like doing it too. Of course, there will be some exceptions to my example, but who cares? Anyways, I feel bad that just because Zak's Dad was a terrorist, he had to change his name, and move all the time in his childhood. I feel like that isn't really right. I hope that the world will change when we grow up.

I think that Zak has a really valid point. Just because somebody's parents or other family do something terrible, doesn't mean they have to do it too. His dad may have been his idol, but he's not anymore. People should get to know each other before judging them. Zak even changed his own name because his given one was his fathers. Nobody should ever stereotype anybody!

i think Zak Ebrahim's ted talk was really sad because he had to deal with being a son of a man who didn't make good decisions. he also had to deal with bullying and the stress of finally getting to know somebody and then moving to a different place. i personally was really shocked when everybody thought he was like his dad, just because Zak was his son. i think zak made the right decision of following what his heart wants, and putting matters in his own shoes.
