Creating a positive environment for the more difficult special needs students can be challenging. I like how Armstrong uses animals in nature to describe creating a "least restrictive environment" to ensure their survival.

depending on the situation. Many times I simply

try to show them that they are only really hurting

themselves with their behaviors....and I have been

known to get LOUD! :)

All rubrics serve a purpose if used well. They define what criteria is needed and provides a general guideline on what is needed.
