I created a few different templates for different size boxes that the students could easily make and the accordion style papers that get glued together to make the book inside. I needed an idea for a share fair at an art education conference. This idea was a Godsend because right after the  conference We had an art night that I used it for, as a take and make activity, and we had covid and I used it for all students then, because it was easy enough for them to do at home and it only required imagination and creativity, I provided the papers, and some glue and scissors. The kids loved it!  It integrates visual art with creative writing, adaptable for any grade. I even did this with middle school aged students and got far more complex results. It was amazing because no two books were exactly the same. We got campfires, cats, to airplanes. Sometimes great ideas can begin with a simple  3-d box.
