In general:
In the Netherlands the government, politics in general and its institutions are trusted very well in comparison to other (european) countries. Fluctations over time do still occur. They rather accurately follow the economical health of the country, with a drop in trust around the financial crisis of 2008. Other factors that are brought forward by researchers are the clash between consensus democracy and movements of the so called ‘risk society’ that demands more rapid and less conservative policy. Trust in general, like in most European countries, is monitored frequently by both governmental and independent institutions.

Research example:
- https://www.researchgate.net/publication/265525496_A_decline_of_social_cohesion_in_the_Netherlands_Participation_and_trust_1997-2010

The governmental data is accessible through the following link:
https://data.overheid.nl/dataset/669-vertrouwen-in-mensen-en-in-organisaties--persoonskenmerken

On a personal level:
I do highly trust in the governmental structure and the political institutions as present in the Netherlands. I would say more than most other members of the group discussion this morning, but similar to Germany. Trust in the political decisions, however, is much more fluid and dependent on the current government than trust in the politics in general. To be honest I have very mixed feelings about the current government. They did not do a very bad job juring the coronacrisis (highly comparible to most northern european countries) but their general vision on policy is not as socially inclusive as I would like it to be. However, this does not mean that I don’t trust in the dutch democratic process.

During the last 30 years, Serbia has suffered from low levels of both social and institutional trust. It is common for post-socialist countries which are transitioning to institutionalizing democracy and a market-based economy to suffer from the crisis of trust.
(Drndarević, Nikola, and Sonja Protić. "ANALYSIS OF TRUST IN SERBIA: PSYCHOLOGICAL AND SOCIOLOGICAL IMPLICATIONS.")

Some particular factors like war in the former Yugoslavia during the 1990s, the break up of SRY and Montenegro’s departure, as well as the declaration of Kosovo as an independent state, as well as the general social and economic crisis which have resulted in a delay in transition processes, have a specific impact on the recorded level of trust.
(Jovanović, M., & Gavrilović, D. (2012). Trust and Legitimation–The Case of Serbia. Centre for Empirical Cultural Studies of South-East Europe the institute for philosophy and social theory of the university of belgrade, 133.)

Personally, I don't trust at all any relevant political subject in my country. I believe that the biggest impact on my opinion has the fact that the major political goals are still the same since 2000. We have not moved a lot on our path to join the EU, there is still high level of corruption and very low level of media freedom.
In comparison to other group members I would say that I have the smallest level of confidence in politics, especially in comparison with group members from Germany and Netherland.

After unification, political trust was lower in former East Germany compared to West Germany (Robert Rohrschneider & Rüdiger Schmitt-Beck (2002) Trust in Democratic Institutions in Germany: Theory and Evidence Ten Years After Unification, German Politics, 11:3, 35-58, DOI: 10.1080/714001314). These differences declined in the following years (Oscar W.
