But he knowingly entered and was found by the hairy man and he fooled him so he could get out of the situation, but he let his dogs leave him even though he knew the hairy man could be near by, and he was told by his mom that the dogs would keep the hairy man away. pg. 2-3 so the cat that the story was following was actually okaheart a cat who died in battle so I'm thinking this is a flashback. Slightly down more  the story explains that the kittens were left in the forest and so I'm thinking that they may have been Yellowfangs kits who died, I don't think Yellowfang was telling the true story about her kits.
