A Trip to Gua Temperung

I only have about two months left before I bid farewell to my foundation year. I do not know when exactly but a thought had occur to my mind 'What have I been doing during these past months?'
I know I'm supposed to be studying and so on but had I done anything extreme besides going back home every week? That was when an opportunity came up for me to join caving.
It was a two hour journey from Cyberjaya to reach Gua Tempurung. Caving was not just about completing the course, we were also able to explore our creativity by spotting some figures in the cave such as a turtle, a human's face and a dolphin.

The starting of caving was actually the most tiring as we kept on ascending an endless flight of stairs. But then, descending the cave was actually scary. There was one part when we actually had to slide down a very steep slope. I would say it was pretty dangerous as our guide had to hold onto each every one of us making sure that we don't slip but thank God I survived. That part was probably the scariest part .

After that we had to descend into a hole and that is when getting wet comes into the picture. There was a lot of crawling as the stalactites were very low. After a lot of walking and crawling through the water that may be filled with bats' poop, we finally completed our journey and immediately lied down wherever that we could.

Driving was Craazyyy

Last weekend was one of the scariest day I had to face. So I went to the airport to meet my sister who just got back from China and that evening she would be carpooling to Bukit Tinggi with her friends from MidValley mall.
So the plan was to meet up, Uber to Nilai to pick her car up and send her to the commuter station. But the plan went horribly wrong. First, the taxi driver was driving pretty slow. Secondly, when we were driving to the commuter station, in front of us was a car that was being dragged by another car using a rope assuming that the car being dragged broke down. The problem is that they were driving at a 40 km per hour rate. Third, by the time we arrived at the station, the train just arrived, meaning my sister would not be able to watch the train leave since she still has to walk to the platform. Waiting for the next train was obviously not an option because it is the commuter. The train is famous for not being punctual, its slowness and the long waits which could take up to an hour.

So that was just me ranting about the bad part that happened. It even gets worse from here! So the plan now is that, my sister would be driving to Mid Valley but the problem is that I would have to drive back home. ALONE! Sure I have been driving a couple of times and it was fine but it's in KL, on a Friday at 5.00 p.m where people just got off from work. Even when my mom found out that I was about to drive back home alone, she said she wished she hadn't known.

I literally couldn't stop shaking for the first ten minutes of driving as I was just too scared and nervous. I had to like sing and bounce in my seat in order for me to calm down. I drove really slow but still got honked a couple of times. Nothing really happened actually, as I drove pretty safely ;) It was just that the idea of driving in the city center alone is scary. Now that I have passed that stage, I now am unstoppable. Nobody can stop me from going wherever I want to go!!

My Favourite Quote

"Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to die tomorrow."

This famous quote by Mahatma Gandhi has inspired thousands or millions of people and one of them is me.
The way I interpret the quote may not be the same as Mahatma Gandhi but we may still have our own similarities.

The way I would define the part where it says "Live as if you were to die tomorrow", is that we should always make the best out of our lives. Some might think living their life to the fullest is by having a lot of fun and doing all sorts of entertainments.

Mahatma Gandhi used to live his life always trying to do the best and made a lot of sacrifices for his country as far as going on a hunger strike. For now, I do not have what it takes to make such big sacrificial for my own country. not saying that I do not love my country, it's just that the term doing something for the country generally involves politics and politics is actually quite a heavy topic for me. However, I would always hope the best for my country.

The reason why I should live as if I were to die tomorrow is that I should do something that I have always wanted to do. Sometimes I ask myself 'What have i been doing these past 19 years of living? Living should be about helping people or maybe the world for the better. So have I accomplished that? Maybe not yet. That is why I feel this quote can push me further into doing something that would benefit people.

Learning is the most important aspect in life if we were to live forever. The knowledge that we have would never sufficient. I used to ask my mom when I was a kid 'Mommy, who is the smartest person in the world?' My mom would always try to explain why there is no smartest person in the world which I used to not understand. It would be a worry if I still do not understand.

Those are some of the reasons why This quote is my favourite quote.

My 5 Year Plan

Travel the world. Well, I don’t mean literally the whole world but at least I would have reached certain countries that I have been dreaming to see such as seeing the aurora, eating authentic food in Japan and go to Disneyland!

That is one, the other thing that I hope to achieve is that I wish I would have the courage to travel alone. So this is the part when one might think if this is something very important you should achieve. Well, I know that academic is probably more important but besides academic stuff, having the courage to travel alone is what I would like to achieve.

Seeing my sisters just how free spirited they are inspires me to do things like they do. But the problem is I’m just too scared to do it alone. Even my mother does not really trust cause I don’t even trust myself haha. Just the thought of travelling to a foreign country by myself makes my palm sweaty. So in 5 years, hopefully I would be able to surpass this fear.

Other than that, in five years, I wish to have finish my degree in medicine already. During that time, I would probably work for a year or two and who knows, maybe I would continue and my masters.

Within those five years before getting a degree, I ought to do something that would benefit mankind. So I would like to do things like volunteerism. Maybe not just in Malaysia but also do it around the world.

I like to throw a couple of foreign words towards my friends and they'll be like "What are you saying?". Not that I'm boasting, it's just that it's actually fun to be speaking another language so I would at least would like to learn a language in these five years. It could be Mandarin, Japanese , Korean or French. Those are top choices.

I may or may not be able to achieve these in five years but daydreaming about these sometimes just makes my day :D
