         <description><![CDATA[<p>My chosen industry is how AI is used in the healthcare field. The healthcare industry is one of the most impactful and expansive fields where AI is making a difference. I chose this industry because of how AI has the potential to improve patient care, enhance medical research, and make healthcare more accessible to the general public. My interest in this field comes from my personal passion for a career in speech-language pathology. AI-driven innovations can revolutionize diagnostics, treatment planning, and patient monitoring, which can help expand the healthcare field. This Padlet will cover IBM Watson Health, Ethical Considerations, Medtronic, and Tempus. </p><p>AI in healthcare is significant to me because it represents a  blend of innovation and human well-being. It has the power to save lives, reduce healthcare disparities, and bring cutting-edge medical advancements to more people. Seeing how AI can enhance patient care inspires me to learn more about its applications and ethical implications. By exploring and looking into these topics, I hope to understand the future of AI in medicine and its impact on healthcare professionals and patients alike. Despite challenges in adoption, it showcased AI’s potential to revolutionize medical decision-making and patient care. IBM Watson Health demonstrated how AI could support healthcare professionals and improve overall treatment outcomes. </p><p>IBM Watson Health has had a crucial impact on healthcare, and I find its contributions inspiring. The idea that AI can process vast amounts of medical data and assist doctors in diagnosing diseases and recommending treatments is revolutionary. Accountability in decision-making is also an issue when considering to use of AI in healthcare. Transparency in AI decision-making processes is crucial for doctors and patients to understand and trust AI-driven recommendations. Furthermore, there is concern about how AI may impact the doctor-patient relationship. One concern is job displacement, as AI automates tasks traditionally performed by healthcare professionals, such as diagnostic imaging and administrative duties. While AI can improve efficiency, it may reduce the need for human workers in certain areas, leading to shifts in the healthcare workforce. The digital divide between those who have access to advanced AI technology and those who do not could further widen healthcare disparities, limiting access to AI-powered treatments for some populations. AI’s reliance on vast amounts of patient data raises concerns about data privacy and security, as the risk of data breaches and misuse increases. Another issue is trust and human interaction in healthcare.
