As a member of the Coast Guard and somoen who had been researching this topic for a few weeks, it was rewarding to see that this organization is taking the necessary steps to end IUU fishing. The United States Coast Guard has sent down a boat to do some surveillance. These boats have become a problem because they are setting up right along the Exclusive Economic Zone which is catastrophic to the environment. Fish do not have rules or borders on where they can live or swim. When there are this many boats in one particular area problems arise. What was interesting is that Satellites have picked up these vessels before doing the same thing in the parts of the world's oceans. I believe this article proves how unregulated fishing is and how necessary it is to stop these vessels. If we have evidence that is enough to take action against these illegal activities and it must force the US to ask ourselves, are we doing everything we can? What I find the most interesting is that IUU fishing has affected and probably broken major labor laws that exists. What is interesting to note and something I did not know was that the European Union was the world's largest importer of fish products. There initiatives and checks of IUU fishing were done and found evidence of it but not enough has been done. The seafood industry is huge, and this report is a call to protect fishermen, their businesses, consumers and even the Ocean. This report details much evidence of fraud and lack of traceability causing the War of IUU to continue to grow. Action is needed to account for where these fish are being imported. Is it safe seafood? Legal? These are the questions we need answers too and traceability through other means than SIMP is necessary.

I really wanted to add this because clicking on the underline "Source" link it led me to so many more interesting articles on IUU fishing. I really like and support Oceana because of the evidence they show in each of these articles.
