If you don't look after your teeth they may go a light shade of orange or yellow.

When you are born you wont have teeth but when you get older you will.
The first set of teeth are called Milk teeth, Baby Teeth, Deciduous or Temporary Teeth.

When your First set of teeth fall out a new set grows back these are your permanent teeth. If one of these teeth fall out it will never grow back

What Are Teeth Made Of.

Human teeth are made up of four different types of tissue: pulp, dentin, enamel, and cementum.

The pulp is the closest to the middle portion of the tooth, and is made up of connecting tissue, nerves, and blood vessels, which nourish the tooth.

Tooth Enamel is the hard outer layer of a tooth. Tooth Enamel is described to be harder than steel but much more brittle.

Dentin. Underneath the enamel you find dentin, which is calcified and looks similar to bone. Dentin is not quite as hard as enamel, so it is at greater risk for decay should the enamel wear away.

Cementum. This tissue covers the tooth root and helps anchor it into the bone. It is softer than enamel and dentin, the best way to protect this softer tissue from decay is by taking good care of your gums. Cementum has a light yellow color and is usually covered by the gums. But with inadequate dental care, the gums may become diseased and shrink, exposing the cementum to harmful plaque and bacteria.

How Do Teeth Work.

The human teeth function to mechanically breaks and down items of food by cutting and crushing, them in preparation for swallowing and digesting. But certain teeth have certain jobs. Incisors are the eight teeth in the front and center of your mouth

Chewing, grinding, pressing, salivating. When we chew, the tongue and the cheeks work together to constantly move the food between the teeth so that it can be chewed. The tongue presses the crushed food against the palate and moves this bolus, which is then ready to be swallowed, to the throat.

By Mya
