Canon in Music

Canon, from what I understood, is the sort of formula that western music follows. This formula was developed through years of classical composers simply making music because it sounds good to slowly coming up with different aspects of the piece that actually made it sound more beautiful. This is also how the idea of how someone would make a masterpiece came in to question. Someone taking all the elements from music and meshing them together in perfect balance to create a practically flawless piece. Musical canon is still used in most, if not all, western music.

My experience was overall peaceful and good. The music I experienced was never truly loud or boisterous. It was mostly relaxed and I appreciated that because although it was calm I could still hear different aspects of music being put to good use. The power in the songs was still felt and the listening quality was very good. I didn't have any issues in term of the radio stations broadcasting quality either so my overall immersion was never interrupted. I particularly fell in love with Chopin's Prelude Op. 28 No. 9 which is played in the video below, it has a slow and steady pace but the emotion is never lost. It maintains a good tempo and uses different elements of music to keep one engaged even though it has a relatively slow timbre that gradually builds and falls again.

Scheherazade

Scheherazade composed one of the most beautiful pieces of classical music I have ever heard. I absolutely loved this song. I even enjoyed it more than Chopin's Prelude Op. 28 No. 9 in E Major, which is referenced in this padlet, The Tale of The Young Prince and Princess had a sense of emotion that I really connected with. It sounded like a story was being told through the instruments. Just like in a story book or a movie, the song had low points and high points that made you feel true emotion. This piece was louder than most of the others I'd heard but although I like softer pieces the emotions that this one made me feel were too powerful for me to ignore.
