<title>The next tale is about a Knight who forces a maid to do a unchristian thing which I will not type out. The knight is to be put to death, but the Queen intervenes. The knight is told that he has one year to find out what women want, and if he can answer he will be pardoned fully. The Knight rides everywhere across England, and he asks every woman what they want. but unfortunately for the Knight, all of the women say different things. Until he finds an old witch who tells him that women want to have power over their husbands. The knight then returns to the Queen and says &quot; a woman wants the self same sovereignty over her husband as her lover&quot; (Chaucer 286). The Knight then marries the old woman, but when the knight finally lets her have a choice in the relationship, she transforms into a beautiful woman and they live happily ever after.</title>
