One example of this would be the two churches that were interestingly designed and constructed. The Church of Saint Jean is the largest underground church in Europe as it was carved into a limestone cliff. Little is known about its early construction however, a large cavity was cut from the rock with a baptismal font placed at the front. Going further east we can see how the Vardzia has a similar concept as it was a monastery cite excavated from slopes with large caves that stretch a lot. This was an important cultural center for the people of Georgia and a place of artistic work. In modern day Spain the Alhambra is one of the most famous works of Islamic architecture which has also been well preserved as the image indicates. The use of geometric shapes and minaret give it its identity as islamic art does not have figures due to the principles of religion. Even with the Gold temple and House of Vetti there are similar characteristics of design which have spread throughout cultures which is visible by looking at the images.
