the article is an interview of the author of the month, MINOLI SALGADO.
this interview is targeted towards readers and specifically Minoli's avid readers. as both the interviewer and interviewee are women, the first question strikes towards her is about writing style of telling her stories from a female perspective.
even though she tells that men are also silent in her stories but the interviewer was caught up on female silence. this tells us a lot about the social structure and interviewer's opinion. this implies that female narrative is generally unheard of and when someone writes about it is considered a feminist agenda.
the other question put up to her about is there any discrimination or biased in favour of western author. this reinforces the claim that the interviewer question might be anecdotes of her being discriminated in the past.
the interviewee's books bring out the issue that are surely larger than her life as she writes about civil war and silenced voices. this shows that she instead of writing about her life experiences wants to her books to a medium to express these distressing issues and make a change in the society.
